“Good experience”

Nice french restaurant on the river bank which also serves local food. The food was nice and as always the waiters all try and speak English. Good value and we enjoyed.

“Great Place for Lunch”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

We had our last meal in LP here and wish we had discovered it sooner. Lovely outlook over the Nam Khan River and the service was excellent. We sat on the terrace but you can also sit on the riverside. Beautiful fresh food and very reasonable. Fruit Shakes were great. Nice mix of French and Laos food..the rice paper rolls were delicious.

“Very elegant charming spot”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

This charming spot on the river side gives a very relaying and cooling spot. The menu offers both European as well as Lao/Thai dishes. The staff does speak English though the usual re-confirmation of the order, is encouraged.

“Nice Hangout”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

This Cafe/Restaurant is overlooking the Nam Khan river with tables on a terrace or on the riverside curb opposite the street where it is situated. The place is nice and quiet, with nice shade during the hot hours of the day. The drinks are good especially the fruit shakes and the lunch menu, which we tried several of the items were delicious as well as good presentation. The staff are also good mannered. A Mango shake which we ordered had a hair in it and asked to be changed, and surprisingly they came back and said that it was the last one they had, which translates to being genuine and not just change the glass and bring back the same drink.

The downside of this location is that the prices are rather high compared to similar other places around the old town.

The bathrooms are also exceptionally clean compared to some other places.

“Top cuisuine by the NamKhan”
Reviewed July 11, 2012

This place is perfection in eating out. Set in the most beautiful city in SE Asia, their fairly short menu, French overall, has exquisite dishes from Vietnam, Laos and Thailand as well. The manager is French and his Laos staff are very professional and utterly charming. You can sit inside the restaurant, outside on the terrace or across the road on another terrace, next to the river. In the evening it is cool and relaxing, The building and the furnishings are beautiful and drinks are interesting and inexpensive. Try the Curry Ga from Vietnam and from the desserts cafe liegeois from Belgium ( a wonderful coffee ice cream dish with cold espresso, cream and roasted almonds). At lunchtime the croquemonsieur is the best I have ever eaten. Value for money is excellent here and overall it is a delightful place to spend an evening.
