“Nice experience”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

Since one can walk safely at night in Luang Prabang we visited the night market. There one can find many things to buy as souvenirs, cloths, bags, traditional cloths, jewlery, paintings of different qualities and prices. To find the best quality among all we went there with our guide who she was making the bargain too. It is a coulorful place don't miss it unless you don't like crowded places.

“Good once or twice”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

The Luang Prabang night market is located on a closed off street. There are two long aisles, very narrow, that you walk down with goods to the left and right of you. It is crowded, hot, busy, and fun. If you're in a hurry, don't go in. Lots of handicrafts; textiles, wood, stone. Honestly, it's the same kind of stuff you see in the night markets all over southeast asia that cater to the tourist. There are some good food stalls on the fringes, as well as some great restaraunts nearby. There are also alot of fruit smoothie shops at the ends of the market. They are really tasty here. Tuk-tuks line both ends to get you back to your hotel, and they seem to deal pretty fairly here.

“NOT to be missed !”

If you are looking for local/traditional food...forget the sit-down restaurants, THIS is the place to go! After browsing, shopping and bartering in the extensive tent market, look for the alley (towards the river) of food vendors--incredible variety & value!

“One of the best markets in South East Asia for souvenirs”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

When you are visiting Luang Prabang, you will certainly visit this market. Every evening the main street is made traffic free and then the sellers are starting to set up their stalls. Very good value for your money, but you have to bargain. They sell mostly stuff made of textile, like handbags, cushions and some lovely toys for children. I've bought all my souvenirs here. the fabrics are in lovely colours and it is very easy to take the home.

“Just average”

Lots of stalls with lots of stuff; pretty much all the same though. We found the local shops in LP to be much more inviting with higher quality goods.
