I can honestly say i have never had better Indian and thats coming from someone who has spent time a fair chunk of time in India. Everything we were served up here was simply exceptional!
Our 'Malai Kofta' was the best i've ever eaten and probably the best i ever will. Our Mutton Korma flawless and our Baingan curry just melted in your mouth. I could go on but i wont bore you with the many dishes we ended up ordering - you'll find yourself heading back for a second night because it's just so good.

Whatever you do don't be fooled by the restaurant which definitely doesn't look like much. Even the food when it came out was just in plastic bowls (as you'll see in the photo) and we definitely weren't filled with optimism. But it tastes fantastic and theres no way you'll regret it!

We've just finished a four month trip of Asia and haven't been able to find Indian cuisine to match Nisha anywhere! After Luang Prabang, we spent a month travelling through India but, to our disappointment, nothing came close. Everything was superb, but I don't believe I will ever find a Malai Kofta to match his. Soft potato stuffed with raisins, cashews and cheese smothered in a rich curry - brilliant stuff. We went back a second night and can't wait to get back next time we're in Laos. Everything I had - bar the unfortunately dry naan - drew an excitable noise and was devoured completely.

The place doesn't look like much - ugly tables and chairs and everything is served on plastic plates and bowls. But don't be deceived. This is a dining experience not to be missed!

We tried this place because the prices seemed good for a curry house. We had a chicken tikka masala plus 2 veggie curries, rice and garlic naan. All the curries looked and tasted different- something we don't normally experience in SE Asian curry houses. They all tasted really, really good! The spicy mint sauce is a winner too. If I'm to be totally critical- the naan was pretty dry- a coating of butter would have finished it off a treat. Service was really good and we even got a check back during our meal- this hasn't happened once during our 6 months in Asia! Great no frills curry house.

We noticed this place when walking through Luang Prabang on the night we arrived. It didn't look like much, slightly worn down, but it had a sign saying pure vegetarian food, and that sounded good to us. When we tried it the following evening, we were quite surprised by the indifferent and borderline arrogant service, the tablecloth was stained, and everything seemed a bit dirty. This wasn't a good start for our dining experience, but once the food was served, we were surprised anew. It was much better than we had expected, and it seemed to be very authentic Indian food.

Since the food was inexpensive compared to many of the other dining options in Luang Prabang, we decided to return the following days. The owner and his family are definitely characters, and they seem to care about their restaurant in a certain way. All the (vegetarian) dishes we were served were delicious, and so was their naan bread. We liked that they always served 1.5 liter bottle of water without asking, and charged the regular 5000 kip for it.

This is a family run restaurant, and with the kids running around, their computer in the back, them doing family stuff along with serving food, makes for an interesting, personal experience. I acknowledge some people probably wouldn't care for this kind of scenario, but to us it seemed sweet and very personal. Coming there several times also made us familiar faces to them, which improved the service - and since the food was so good, we definitely recommend this place as a great, inexpensive alternative for eating out in the otherwise touristy town of Luang Prabang.
