Location, service and wine all ticked the right boxes. I felt the menu wasn't varied enough but would give the food an 3.5 stars.

Thank Bruce G

The setting and service is really excellent, we just found the food not as delicious and a bit more expensive than some other restaurants around.

Great Loatian good espeically the spring rolls and nice ambience but be prepared to pay a bit higher price than the average Luang Prabang local restaurant price. Our lunch for two cost $US30!

We are well here. The starters were nice although the deep fried pork was on the small side and a little tough. Main courses much better, the chicken and pork stew and a Laotian stew with many unfamiliar ingredients were both very good. The service was excellent, with the team really trying to think of all our needs. The barman made a mean vodka martini so a good night was had.

Dear Mark and Wils B,

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us,

We noted your comment about the deep fried pork and this will be communicated to our chef.
Commonly the Lao stew is cooked and marinated with ginger, tamarind, local herbs and spices; many different ingredients as your mentioned, this is what makes it so special and flavorsome

Thank for your compliments on the service and cocktail – the team will be delighted to read your kind words.

We do hope to welcome you back very soon,

Kind regards,

Pablo

We ate here on our first night in Laos, so tired and very jet lagged. We had the Western Lao set menu, which comprised:
- Luang Prabang salad with watercress, tomato, cucumber and fried river weed with some sort of dressing - fresh and delicious;
- creamy green soup - no idea which veggies!
- either marinated buffalo kebabs - tasty but a bit tough - or Mekong river fish - delicious, definitely the main to pick
- creme brulee with tropical fruit salsa - small but just enough to end with something sweet.
Overall, a nice Lao-lite intro to local food for westerners who don't fancy buffalo bile and bitter herbs ...
Also a nice ambience.

Dear Su B,

Thank you for such a detailed comment – I believe people will get appetite by reading it!

The creamy green soup is the bamboo soup flavored with lemongrass and scented with local mint, it is very delicious indeed.

It is true that our menu has different options in order to please everyone. Buffalo is a must to try however as you mentioned, the Mekong river fish is as well a perfect choice.
This is the advantage of such a diversified cuisine – there is specialty for everyone!

We do hope to welcome you back for more culinary discoveries.

Kind Regards,

Pablo
