“Simply the Best! Great Lao food & Great Innovative Original recipes using local concepts and ingredients!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2012

What can I say! This may be the best restaurant in Laos, certainly in Luang Prabang! I have eaten at The Apsara many times during my annual visits to Luang Prabang over the last 6 years and always been very impressed. Few are the places where you savor every bite and walkaway remembering dishes for years. This is one of those Places!
The Owner /Head Chef is very skilled at presenting great local recipes just a cut above everyone else. But his real talents lie in creating original dishes with local concepts and ingredients. The Brased Pork belly over roast Pumpkin with a star anise sauce was amazing! The Panin Fish Steamed in Banana is Leaf delicate and tasty. The Or Shut was a collection of subtleties!. All Just wonderful and the Deserts from the cinamon Banana sorbet to the poached Pears were a final delight.
My Friends and I were very very impressed. The Price, though not inexpensive, is a Bargain for what you get! The Setting and service are comparable to the food, Excellent. They have tables inside and on the veranda as well as across the street overlooking the Mae Nam Khan. Enjoy!

“Best restaurant in Luang Prabang”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2012

We loved every dish we had - Ohr suht, Lao tasting menu, buffalo sausage, and pear dessert. The staff were super friendly and the setting is perfect. You can sit indoors, outside on the terrace or across the street looking over the river.

“Lovely food. Great ambience”

We ate outdoors on the terrace above the Nam Kan river. It has lovely ambience, is away from the noise and bustle. Quite romantic spot but great for anyone looking for good food in lovely spot.

“Tasty”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2012

The fries were very good, but expensive, 60,000K. The prices are high but we were impressed by most of our food and the drinks were good. We were there for lunch. We didn't realize they have seating across the street on the river. I'd recommend sitting over there for lunch instead.
