Nicely located at Nam Khan Riverside, rooms recently renovated and fine staff without frills or thrills. No food served, but around the corner just a few steps away lots of options for drinking and dining.

Room Tip: Venue has only 5 rooms, 3 fan-cooled on groundfloor and 2 airconditioned one floor up

Stayed here for a couple of nights a week or two back. The location is perfect, on the river at the start of the peninsula, not too far down - so close to night market, shops and restaurants. The rooms are basic, the mattresses and pillows typically hard. The showers are in the wall onto the toilet area, bad wifi, poor room lighting, crappy old TVs. Which is all fine, it is backpacker quality - but at $30 / night, you can get much better.

Stayed for a total of 3 nights, it's location is good with a nice coffee shop 2 doors along and is minutes away from the main strip.

Rooms are basic but clean and can't complain for the price but beds were a little firm.

Location
The guesthouse is located in the historic area of the town and in close walking distance to eateries and the main tourist attractions.

The building is close to the road and I thought it might be noisy but it wasn't. We had a window with shutters, which made is quieter and darker for sleeping.

Room
The room had a bed, tv on stand, small table and a chair. I would have like a wardrobe or drawers just so I could have emptied out the backpack. The air con worked well. The wet room / bathroom was a good size compared to other places we have stayed and had a very effective extractor fan.

Other
The hotel emailed us prior to our visit to see if we wanted an airport pickup - for ease we said yes, and this worked well, with the tuk tuk driver being exactly where we were told he would be.

I was very refreshed to not be offered any tours, drivers, motorbikes etc. from the hotel and to be just allowed to do our own thing and wander without being asked where we were going and what we were doing.

Wifi worked well.

Laundry cost 10,000 kip per kilo and was returned within a day.

For how much we paid we have a GREAT time here. The building is a nice old colonial style building overlooking the Nam Kahn River with great sunrise views. Short walking distance to the main road, right next to some great restaurants and a ex-pat bar. Wi-Fi needs to be strengthened and sped up for sure.

Nice location overlooking the Khan River and close to the main street. We had one of the two upstairs rooms with a nice balcony. The room was spacious with thatched walls and ceiling and wood floors. There's a nice sized bathroom, although the toilet leaked. The mini fridge and the electric kettle were appreciated. It was fairly quiet with some traffic noise in the early morning. From Sopha House, you can walk around the tourist area. Good wifi.

The four of us stayed there for 4 nights in the beginning of February. We had the two very spacious, clean and well-appointed rooms upstairs and a private balcony. Through the trees we could see the Nam Khan River.
The Sopha House is a friendly guesthouse close to the center. Luang Prabang is a town where we could have lingered longer.
