We initially booked a deluxe room on the 2nd floor for 3 nights and extended for another 2 so a total of 5 nights.

On our last day we had time and a scooter to see what else was available for recommendation to friends and colleagues. Result was we were even more pleased with our choice (and we visited 5 of the other top rated hotels.

Apart from being the best value by far the highlights of the hotel were the following.
Best Location.
Authentic but modern room (deluxe room 4 Mango) with a great shower and really good air-conditioning and room safe. Free minibar was a bonus.
Great included breakfast with lots of choice at almost any time.
Awesome terrace restaurant across with spectacular river views and very reasonable prices (not loaded as hotels usually do)
Staff are a little raw to European standards and English a little lacking but the extra effort they put in more than makes up for it.
Possibly would not have given the hotel such a raving review but for having visited the other top rated hotels we really did appreciate ours even more afterwards.

Thanks guys for an awesome vacation

PS: don't miss out on the river cruise to the waterfalls and do take same back to the hotel. Not much to see in the Tuk Tuk on the way back and the river cruise to the waterfalls was really a highlight.

As a retired innkeeper myself, I have become very picky before awarding accolades to the places I stay. I am therefore delighted to recognise the Belle Rive as an exceptional property! Perfectly located on the banks of the Mekong, and near the centre of Luang Prabang, this beautifully cared for hotel is a gem. Led by General Manager Damian Killer, the staff provided excellent service, and superb advice about what to see and where to dine in this amazing town. We spent the last 10 minutes of our stay enjoying the spectacular view from the hotel's patio. Magical! We will be back.

This was an absolutely beautiful hotel. The food was great (Harrison Ford even came to this hotel for his meals a few weeks ago because the food and view are amazing-we saw pictures). The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and spacious. We stayed in a balcony maisonette room and it was gorgeous. Every morning we sat on our balcony and had a cup of coffee.

The hotel manager was also extremely accommodating. He showed us a bunch of cute restaurants and bars in the area more for younger crowds, set us up with motorcycles to explore the town and helped us plan every one of our excursions. He even recommended a hotel for us to stay at in our next location.

The road outside the hotel was not super busy making sleeping and relaxing very peaceful. Right when we arrived the hotel staff had our rooms ready in addition to a complementary drink. We had a truly amazing stay here and to top it all of this hotel is in the PERFECT LOCATION. it is two blocks down from the main street where the night markets and temples are, and right around the corner, literally right around the corner from two of the nicest restaurants in the area, and lastly, right on the river. The hotel also offered a free complementary sunset cruise with a drink. We did this our last night and it was truly special.

Highly highly recommend this hotel. My family has already agreed to come back to this awesome spot within the year.

Room tip: all of the balcony suits are well worth the price. absolutely beautiful

Sabaidee!!!
I just checked out of this hotel, I was there for 3 nights as a solo traveler and they upgraded me to a Balcony Maisonette ! Can’t complain beautiful room with views of Mekong River , very clean and all amenities provided in the room were beyond my expectation. All staff are very friendly and helpful speak excellent English can’t fault anything. Location is quiet and peaceful right opposite Mekong river at the same time it is very central and walkable to all the temples and the Main Street. They provide free bicycles as well which was great for me as a solo traveler - perfect way to wander around and explore the city. I liked few touches like complimentary mini bar , complimentary all day breakfast on the terrace and free sunset cruise with complimentary drinks , cruise was so beautiful do not miss it.
Thank you again to all the staff for the wonderful hospitality !

Can’t get any closer to the Mekon river. Had a room with a view and a balcony, can’t beat that. Cross the road and have breakfast on a terrace overlooking the river. Staff a friendly and accommodating.

Dear Sandy A

Thank you very much for sharing such a great review about your time at The Belle Rive Boutique Hotel.

How delightful to know that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us and that our staff were friendly and accommodating.

We truly agree that the location of The Belle Rive is most convenient to explore this beautiful UNESCO world heritage town, while still having direct access to the mighty Mekong river through our riverside terrace.

Further, we already look forward to your next visit and remain in the meantime with our very best regards.
