“Lonely Planet inclusion= no need to try?”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

Checked in here after reading review in Lonely Planet. Twin room was OK, but mattresses needed changing. One was totally broken. Bathroom not clean and drain blocked somewhere. Lonely Planet says it has WiFi- to be fair it does, but there is zero bandwidth (the staff seem to spend a lot of time playing games online). I guess they just ask if they have it? You can get online but only if you get up very early.
Better, cleaner, cheaper gusethouses available.

we stayed at Kinnaly 8 nights, travelling with our 13 years old daughter. The room was beautiful, large and comfortable, the sheets and towels super clean, the location could not be any better and the off season price: only 80,000 kip (for the three of us, sharing a HUGE king size bed). They DO HAVE free WiFi. The small old temple on the right (heading up to the main street) has a very relaxed atmosphere end very friendly and open minded monks. The head of the monastery is a bright young man who will be happy to answer any curious questions.
We highly recommend it.

Room Tip: some of the rooms have a balcony; we had a side one without, but the view of the roofs of the old to...

I stayed in one of the downstairs rooms which had 2 single beds, a fan and ensuite bathroom. I traveled in the low season and the room cost 50 000 kip a night. I found a solo traveler to share with me so ended up paying only 25 000 per night, so an absolute bargain!

The room was clean with fresh linen. The ceiling fan was powerful enough to reach both beds and cooled down the room nicely. The bathroom had both hot and cold water and was in great working order. WIFI worked fine in the room and I had no problems with it. Staff watched TV most of the time in the front room and did not interact much however, they were pleasant when checking in and out. I thought the location was great as it was close to all the main attractions yet quiet enough to get some rest. I ended up staying 4 nights after checking out of another guesthouse of the same price which was not very clean, had cold water and no wifi and a bad insect problem.

Would stay here again if I were to visit Luang Prabang again in the future.

Location is the selling point!Near the river in old part of town.Big clean rooms, but they are not cleaned daily or bins emptied which is odd.The staff smile but do not interact, There is a cheap laundry service.I payed 100,000kip for a big double bed. Sheets were clean and a nice en suite with hot water. For the price it is good value, but they need to clean rooms at least once during the stay.

Great clean rooms with hardwood floors, high ceilings, wood trim, attached bath, and fresh white sheets. Close to everything. Laundry service is great. 100,000 Kip for room without balcony. A real gem.

We stayed 4 nights here. A bit more expensive than expected 120,000 Kip for an upstairs room with balcony. Room was clean and comfortable, no wifi or tv as mentioned but we got by ok! A short walk to the main street, bars, Mekong etc. Main complaint was the room wasn't cleaned once during our stay, and when we requested new toilet paper & water it wasn't delivered! Not a huge deal but annoying.

Would stay again.

After arriving in town at about 6am, we took the cheaper room downstairs which has two large single beds, a fan and a private bathroom. All very clean, with an excellent shower. The location is brilliant, only one street back from the Mekhong in the old quarter and very near to lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Staff are very friendly, and there is a laundry service available if you need it. We have stayed 3 nights so far, and would not hesitate to stay here again when we return to Luang Prabang in the near future as it is very good value for what you get.
