This museum is unique. The displays and level of detail in English are excellent, and a tour is given by an American researcher which gives real insight into the diverse cultures of Laos. There’s a wonderful section on music in Lao culture, and many displays highlighting various other aspects of different ethnic groups. We came away with a much greater understanding of the people of Laos.

Great place to stop by to learn more about Laos and its inhabitants. Small but very interesting and informative of the different tribes. The gift store is great and have some very nice items for sale.

This is a brilliant little museum, crammed with artefacts and supported by many audio clips of tribal life eg musical instruments. Displays are very informative with lots of beautiful traditional costumes. There is also a dressing up box where you can put on items of tribal dress for photos, which is great fun. The shop was a bit disappointing, as I felt it could have had a lot more stock, as did the stand alone shop on the main street, but otherwide a really interesting experience.

A fascinating and well-run museum about the local hill tribes, their histories, cultures and traditions. The place was spotless and the toilet deserves a special mentio for its charm! A shop sells quality items made by hill tribes.

I arrived in time for a free tour which was great. It's located in an historical building and has a shop where you can purchase authentic handicrafts. They also offer half day courses in weaving and embroidery.

The displays are well presented and it's just the right amount of information to take in without being overwhelmed. Take some time to watch the short videos as they are interesting and fun to watch.

I recommend taking the time to visit.
