“Brilliant place to stay!! GO!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2013 via mobile

In the perfect location, amongst a noise deadening group of bamboo plants and trees we had the nicest room, close to bike rental (next door) and washing facilities AND all the attractions in the city. Right at the end of the Main Street where the night market is held and where the monks are 'fed' in the morning. Really friendly and helpful reception. Great hotel!

5mins walk to tourist sites, 2mins walk to night market. 5 mins walk to the row of restaurants and cafes, 3 mins walk to restaurants along Mekong River. Rustic charm with modern ensuite which includes bath-tub, jet-spray shower, LED TV (3 channels incl HBO but translated voice over in local language). Breakfast spread incl egg station, porridge, soup noodles, fried rice-noodles, fruits, orange cordial. Service was prompt - phone call to reception brought the staff to our door within 2 mins.

We originally booked for 2 nights but extended for another night as the homely environment and friendly staff made a difference though there are similar hotels at cheaper rates available in the vicinity. It is close to the night market and main attractions in town.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new building that provides better homely environment!

This hotel is very well located with great access to restaurants and food stalls. The service staff is friendly and attentive.

The rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable. Public areas are well maintained.

My only complaint is that the internet access is slow and inconsistent.

I'd spent a while researching where to stay in Luang Prabang and really wished I hadn't bothered. Better to arrive on the Mekong boat from Huay Xi and get a taxi driver to take you to the guest house district and pick any. This hotel was a bit depressing really. Our sheets had to be changed as they were dirty. We didn't have a hair dryer or hand towels and got these eventually.
We couldn't open our bedroom windows as they faced out onto a walkway and the only way to get light was to open the door. Bit like a furnished garage really. The public areas outside were all a little scruffy and the floors could have done with a clean. Breakfasts were just average as well. Staff not very smiley.
Luang Prabang is an amazing place and in the end we boxed up our disappointment in the hotel and had ourselves a good time. Jo Ma's bakery is just around the corner so I suppose that's a plus!
The hotel really isn't worth the money though and for the price we too would try elsewhere.

Room Tip: None - sorry!

Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of lpb. Restaurants, local night market and Mekong river are within walking distance.

Room was spacious to accommodate the 3 of us. Room was cozy and bed was comfortable. Loved the interior design of the themed hotel room. Breakfast was a spread whereby u get to try different local delights. In room massage provided were good, had booked for the massage daily for our entire stay! Have fun exploring lbp via bike which can be rented just beside the hotel.

Receptionist were friendly and welcoming, helpful in providing useful travel information around. all smiles whenever we pass by the counter.

Thumbs up for New Daraphet Villa!! We will be back again on our next visit, for sure!

Rooms tiny, no internet, no safe didn't work, old and tired, brekfast average. This can be forgiven but what can't is the poor service and staff who don't care, not even interested in trying to assist. I've stayed in dormitory accommodation at a quarter of the price where the service is ten times better

Room Tip: I'm not sure the is a good room
