A brand new and very nice guesthouse ~~ however, it is not a "hotel" in the conventional sense. The Mekong View Hotel is in an excellent location ~~ away from the noisy part of town, but all the restaurants and shops are within comfortable walking distance. It is located across the street from the Mekong River and (I think) there is a view of the river from every room. Breakfast is included and sometimes wine in the evening (when the owner is on the property). The owner and staff are all friendly and helpful. Recommended.

the mekong view hotel had only been open for 5 days when we stayed so there were a couple of small teething problems but all of this was offset by the wonderful staff and swedish owner.the room was large and finished to an excellent standard with great views of the mekong.there was a good size bathroom and small seperate wc with a safe at reception,a torch was provided for the short walk to the centre as there were one or two dark areas . overall we were very impressed and made to feel welcome
