All Laos Elephant Camp was a good value option from amongst the more reputable elephant options in Luang Prabang. Three one day Mahout course allowed us to ride the elephants for approx 2.5 hours, including bathing, sitting on a howdah, and sitting inn the elephants back. Lunch provided was a salad,a soup, and fried rice, and fruit salad, and water was also provided throughout the day.

The elephants were well fed, and our guides did not have any sticks or anything, controlling them with voices and legs.

Pretty good day, recommended if you have the money and care about the treatment of the animals.

We did the one day trip with my family and it was good fun I have not been to other camps so I have no parameter to compare but we enjoyed the day trip spend a lot of time with the elephants which all looked well looked after and have fun bathing them in the river. Maybe a minus point was the food the lunch we got was too small only one small dish of fried rice.

We only signed-up for the one day mahout training due to time constraints but what a day it was, I would recommend this tour to anyone even slightly interested in elephant; in fact, I recommend planning your time in LP so that you can do the 2 or even 3 day course.

We did the 1-day Mahout course and had a great time. We enjoyed the initial elephant ride, but really loved getting to drive our own elephant and practice the commands we had learned. The day finished with a bath that saw us ride our elephants into the river and joyfully and repeatedly shout the command "boun boun" (which means elephant shower).

We walked into All Lao Travel Service and had a look at their itinerary stick on their table. We chose half day kayaking along Nam Khan River for an affordable/ cheaper than others price. Since we read about their 'not too bad' reputation on Lonely Planet Book and on Tripadvisor, we thought maybe we should give them a try. So when we paid for the tour, i asked for a print out of the itinerary so that i could keep and check on it on the actual day.

But the guy at the desk pointed at the itinerary on the table and says what you see on the itinerary is what i will get. Then i said i need a copy so that i can remember, but he procrastinated and gave me the receipt of booking and says all i need is the receipt, i don't need the itinerary. So i took a photo of the itinerary stuck on the table and went off.
True enough on the actual day, things didn't turn out as planed on the itinerary. We were supposed to kayak through 'limestone' area with 'breathtaking view', but all we saw was villages and trees. We do not know if the tour guide brought us to where we supposed to start the kayak, nobody else joined this tour except my group and the guide. The guide was not very well spoken (english). So next time when you book a tour with them, insist on the printed itinerary so that you could argue when things do not turn out as spelled on the paper.
