I feel there may be similar accommodations in this price range (accommodation prices in Luang Prabang are higher than in many parts of South East Asia, due probably to its UNESCO status) but what I think sets Villa Ban Lakkham apart is the outstanding service, in particular from the manager, Mr. Ono.
Having booked months before, there was a glitch in our reservation (traveling with my daughter as this was her graduation present). Mr Ono, not only set us up in alternate accommodations for the duration but ensured these were an upgrade from what we had already booked. He also personally invited us for dinner and when our flight did not leave until 6 pm, gave us a late check out, basically until we left!
Particulars - rooms are basic but tastefully decorated but the covered balconies are brilliant and one of the reasons we chose this villa. Breakfast was outstanding and a great opportunity to try local fare while the highly recommended Tamarind restaurant (justifiably) is two doors down.
All things equal, rest assured the very laid back Mr. Ono will take care extremely good care of you and we leave with the fondest of memories!
