Most often compared to the nearby Cuckoo's, Andaaz is a slightly different experience. Whereas Cuckoo's is more of a labour of love and a restoration project, this is a restaurant first and foremost. As a result, the quality of food available here is much better, and the service is also significantly stronger.
The steep climb notwithstanding, it is worth booking in advance to get a table outdoors with good views. Although the views are not as strong as the neighbour, they are still pretty impressive nonetheless.
The style of serving food is novel, as the staff replenishes your plates for you periodically rather than cluttering tables with platters. It is easy to over-order (and to some extent recommended as there is a lot of good stuff to try from the barbecue). Pricing is at a premium, but you are being charged for the ambience. Interior design is a bit confused, with no clear theme.
Andaaz is worth a visit for the superior food quality offered in this part of Lahore. there are decent views over the old city, and although not as characterful as its neighbour, the better food quality makes up for that.
