The fabulous wood carving in this monastery make it the most interesting of all the monasteries visited on my 2 week trip to Myanmar.

We had a guided tour of Mandalay and thank goodness we did not have to go from one place to another. Distances are pretty big. Very nice temples and this Monastery was very pretty.

This Monastery is awesome, so intricately carved, wow. A must see in Mandalay. I have to say, i much preferred to see something in carved wood than all the gold and sparkle I had seen elsewhere.

It is a truly wonderful teak monastry. The wooden carvings on teak wood that you find there are intricate and are very beautifully carved. The tall wooden teak pillars that you find in the monastary are also amazing to see. You can hardly come by such monastries that are built entirely on wood, and that also on teak wood. In my opinion this monastry is a definite must see if you ever visit Mandalay for all the reasons mentioned above.
