“Good by Myanmar standards”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2013

It's the staff that made this place. The hotel overall is looking a little tired, but the rooms are nice (we got a superior room at $70). The food in the restaurant was surprisingly good, given the decor it wasn't expected. The reality is Myanmar is struggling with the influx of tourists, there are more tourists than there are rooms at certain times of the year and this has driven the price up. It's just the reality of being there so in the cities you pay more than what it would be worth in the west.

However the staff on the desk were outstanding. As we were travelling independently over high season we had really struggled to make bookings before we arrived in the country. Meant we were constantly having to ring ahead. They were fantastic as they were very keen to help, their English was pretty good and their advice was great. They organised a taxi for us to take us around all the sites the next day, our plan would have only taken half a day, they knew this so added other sites that filled the day up with places we hadn't chosen (because we thought we would be stretched timewise) and what they added was fantastic. So glad we went with the flow with their local knowledge.

Nothing was too hard and the staff massively contributed towards a fantastic first day in Myanmar.

Wish we had used the pool, it was the last one we saw in the country.

Room Tip: Probably worth the extra $10 for a superior room.

if you have traveled Myanmar before you will know that the overpriced hotels are everywhere, this is Myanmar for you at the moment wherever you go!! I stayed a total of 3 nights together with 4 others friends, we all liked very much this hotel, the staff was very helpful and friendly. Take the rooms that are in the inner garden number 312 - 310 - 309 and NOT the one by the road, than you will find the place very quite, a beautiful garden and swimming pool, a very good breakfast!! Yes it is a bit out from the city center but less than 10 minutes drive. The restaurant food is fine quite average and clean, It was a pleasant stay!

Room Tip: room 312 in the inner garden and next to the pool!

We stayed here for 3 nights in february.

The hotels is far from the city center, so you need cabs to move yourself around. The area is supposed to be in a quiet area, however our room was next to another house with a lot of noisy people and cars.

The room is very outdated. We had a very old bathroom, tv and closet and everything just feels old. However, the bed was nice and the room has everything you need.

The breakfast is very simple, but ok.

There is wifi in the main areas, not in our room and there is a very nice swimmingpool! The staff is friendly and helpfull.

I would not stay in this hotel again, but if you are looking for a basic hotel, I can recommend it.

We paid U$ 60 per night for a standard double room in this hotel, which we felt was heavily over-prized. The furniture was worn-out and fixed with tape, it took ages until we got hot water in the shower and there were mice running along the reception. Breakfast was decent. Wifi is free but very slow. At night, it was quite noisy as there are driving lots of scooters on the street next to the hotel. Nevertheless, the hotel staff was quite friendly.

Pleasant hotel with a well maintained good-sized pool. Rooms, especially the bathrooms, are a tad jaded and could do with a makeover. Plumbing does not work as it should. Power cuts are frequent so have a torch close by....I got caught in the shower in the dark with shampoo in my hair! Staff are cheerful and helpful especially the receptionists. Wifi and internet access was difficult. The restaurant served generous portions of decent food at reasonable prices. Buffet breakfast was good with eggs to order. Food was charged in Kyat, drink in US$. This led to a lot of confusion with currency calculations when the time came to pay. The waiters seemed confused too as some in our party were overcharged or shortchanged. Accounts were rectified with a smile when errors were brought to their notice! Mozzies are a problem after dark.
Avoid rooms alongside the road...traffic can be noisy.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms alongside the road. Traffic can be noisy.

Nice hotel with clean and comfortable room in a chalet. Got a room at the back with well maintained garden so it was really quiet. Restaurant serves reasonable and sizeable portion good food and even with extra 20 % for tax and service charges is still reasonably priced. Breakfast not too bad with plenty of fresh fruits, both in varieties and quantities. But the place is really poorly located.

Room Tip: The chalets at the back of the garden are really quiet.

. The Hotel has individual chalets which are comfortable and adequate. The breakfast was good some western food as well as Asian. The hotel has a pool and its staff are most helpful. One drawback is that it is fairly remote from the centre of Mandalay. A taxi ride is essential as all the restaurants/Beer Bars are quite a distance away and are well spread out. We made an arrangement with the same taxi driver to be picked up every evening.
The taxi ride for 6 of us cost around £10 UK sterling per return. The taxi driver would wait for us to finish our meal and either go on to elsewhere or back to our hotel.

Room Tip: The superior rooms are very nice
