Busy, hectic, noisy Chinese restaurant with excellent food, some of the best food in Myanmar. Try the fried Kailan and whole grilled fish in garlic.

The food is good here, however I would not say it is great. The views from the upper floors are lovely. This is a bit typical of Chinese in that the food come very quickly and they are also out of the place quickly. We were here on Christmas day and it was packed at 7pm and virtually empty by 9.30pm

A bit posh this place. Lots of local Chinese eat here.See them eat and talk on mobiles at the same time. The portions were enormous and the prices a bit on the same side, but we enjoyed our meal

Our fabulous tour guide asked us what we want eat for the evening. We wanted to see what the Chinese cuisine is like in Mandalay, given that the city is the "crossroad of Indian and Chinese cultures. The place was nearly full with locals and NOT filled HUGE tour bus crowd. We ordered their signature duck along with hot and sour soup, Basic stir fried Kailan, stir fried Chicken cashew for the kids. The soup was not the hot & sour soup as we know it; it's definitely the Southeast Asia version-- more like the Khmer version. The roast duck is more like the Balinese version-- deep fried before serving flavorful but greasy. The vegetable was cook perfectly. The VIP room given was smelling smokey, though no one was smoking at the time of our visit. Waiters English is decent. The place is clean. Worth our visit given the limited option. The place is not cheap by local standard, definitely target wealthier locals and tourists.

After a number of Burmese meals, my daughter and I wanted to try Chinese food for a change. It was also extremely hot in Mandalay, so we wanted a restaurant with air-conditioning. The Golden Duck ticked all our requirements and even more when we were seated facing the moat - it was just amazing. We had half a roast duck, with sweet and sour pork and a prawn dish plus Mandalay beer. Just be mindful of the portion sizes, they are large in comparison to the Burmese dishes. the food was excellent and we were both stuffed to the brim. We enjoyed our meal so much so that later with the rest of the family we went again and it did not disappoint. On both occasions the restaurant was packed. Good menu and friendly staff.
