I stayed at this hotel from 22nd June till 06 July 2011 and loved it! The rooms are basic but mainly clean and fresh towels every day. The air conditioning units in the room could be better but bearable in the time we spent there.
On the beach you can Jet Ski, Paraglide, Banana Boat etc which they always do for 5 Dinar less than the advertised price. Also, do not get tricked, as I did, when they say you can have longer on the activity because you do not. I was told if I paid 30 Dinar to jet ski, I'll have another 5 minutes. After getting flagged in and estimating the time I had, it was the same, if not less, than the advertised duration. Tunisia is the best place I have came across for bantering. We were told by our fantastic Thomson rep, Dan, to offer 80% less than they were asking for the item in their shops which I thought was crazy; however they do mark their prices up about this to account for your banter so do not be afraid to do this. I remember one occasion where we didn't want a "solid silver" bracelet with our names engraved in Arabic; he started at 25 Dinar and we said no (because it was aluminium rubbish) and he went all the way down to 5 Dinar which is about £2.35.
Another point I would stress is to never go to someone's warehouse where they keep more "handbags" etc. You will go to a carpet shop/Rug Warehouse or some other useless warehouse where they will shut the doors behind you and pressure you into buying items.
If you fancy a trip to the shops, which we did, you will come across people saying they are your hotels chiefs, maintenance man, gardener etc. They are not! They memorise your hotel wrist band you get when you check in so they know your hotel name.
The most important point to stress to this hotel is that they need to revise their food selections. Me and my girlfriend lived on chips and pizza for lunch and dinner and crepes for breakfast. The hotel is very populated by polish holiday makers which obviously means most food is catered for them; although most of the people will queue for Pizza for atleast 15minutes at a time. English holiday makers really do not have a good selection of food. This hotel does serve a lot of fish if you like this every day.
Another surprising point about this hotel is that, unlike others I have went to, your all inclusive package is simply your three meals per day and a snack bar at 4pm till 5pm. I thought that I would have been able to have snacks when I would have wanted but with this hotel this is not the case. The snacks are either ice-cream or a slice of cake or croissant.
The entertainment in this hotel is fantastic. Every night there was a show at the theatre which was really well put together and choreographed.
In conclusion I feel that this is a fantastic hotel with very passionate waiters and staff that are happy to endure your needs in the restaurants or bars however the equipment they use, for example the coke, sprite and fanta machine, is outdated and broke constantly to their frustration. This hotel definitely needs updating in many areas but offers a good holiday with a few jagged edges.
