“Excellent Value”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

Stayed here for a week recently. The rooms are quite basic but very clean with a TV, A/C and balcony. Bathroom was fine and shower very good but seemed to flood the floor everytime you had a shower... !

Had Half-Board and the food was completely adequate. The evening meal was always excellent with meat, vegetables and salads available.

On arrival I checked-in at about 9.40pm just after the restaurant had closed at 930pm so missed out and wasn't offered anything such as a sandwich or even a drink, which would have been nice after a long journey. The staff were efficient without being particularly friendly. They could also change money at Reception.

The location is good not far from the beach and there is a pool at the hotel. You can walk to the train station, although the Metro station for trains down the coast is further away near the Port area. The main bus station is difficult to find and a few km away so best to get a taxi, which are cheap anyway. The Medina is interesting and around the main square there are several restaurants which serve pizza etc. The Tourist Information office on the main square is also very helpful if you want information on trains and local buses.

Overall a good place to visit and very reasonably-priced.

Room Tip: Rooms at front have a view of the sea, although at the back are probably quieter with a view of the...

Went in March and was very sceptical due to some of the reviews online. If you are not a fussy person and just need a place to stay then this is perfect for you. We were given a choie of rooms and had a big enough for five people yet only there was two of us. Lowcost holidays offered us a brilliant half board price so no complaints there. On arrival the greeting was friendly; choice of rooms and also the hotel had a large buffet for breakfast and dinner. Some excellent choices and very tasty food. The waiters were very helpful and provided excellent customer service. Location; couldnt fault as the Medina was 10-12 mins walk and the beach only 5 minutes. A very well known hotel so all taxi's could drop off you off easily. Not a bad view as we could see the beach and the old town on sousse from the room. Had plenty of hot showers: Drawbacks: wi-fi only worked in reception area and they switch off lights at 12pm. Lots of locals come to drink in the evening so reception area not very good for children as can get very noisy and busy.

We took a last minute trip to Sousse, Tunisia for 2 weeks. We had booked a room at Hotel Kaiser and our first impression was rather good. They had a restaurant next door so we could have a midnight snack before going to bed.

The breakfast was sorely disappointing. Yogurt, some kind of sausage, tomatoes, hard boiled eggs (to the point that they were beyond dead), croissants and bread. The only variation in the buffet was the different kind of flavors of the yogurts.

The maids were sweet and made it a point to do something different with the bed sheets when she had cleaned the room. The service is good.

The "hotel-friends" who are supposed to tell you about the hammam and get to go down there are a pain. They don't get when you tell them no, and you have to come up with excuses as to why you don't have time.
Also they have two guys from Tunisian Travel sitting in the lobby all day asking you if you wish to join them on a pirate boat.
The "hotel-friends" also arrange a pool-party 5 out of 7 days a week. Pretty frustrating when you have poolside balcony. I recommend that one bring earplugs.

The pool is very small and the number of sunbeds available during the day is very limited. There is, though, a sunbed area for guests of Hotel Kaiser on the beach - and the beach is only 1 km away from the hotel.

The service from the waiters and receptionist was also very good. They are kind people whose job is to help you have a good holiday - and they know it.

The beds are a bit hard, but big. There are extra blankets in the closet if you should get cold from the A/C at night.

Conclusion? If the "hotel-friends" had not been there we would probably have given two dots more.

I love Tunisia and normally stay in large hotel right on beach all inclusive but thought I would have a change. When I go all inclusive I only go from Sun lounger to pool to bar to eat n that's it for the holiday. So this time I done the complete opposite. I highly recommend staying here if you want base so you can discover Tunisia. I found hotel very clean n as I have cockroache phobia I was very pleased as I didn't see one the whole stay. The pool/Sun terrace is size of postage stamp but very clean and omg what a Sun trap. Anyway all I'm saying is don't knock it till you try it with the exception of those who give it bad reviews who make me laugh as go stay in moevenpick but you'll have to dig deep in your pocket :-) You get very basic breakfast but who wants full English in that heat. Put it this way I stayed at Riahd Palms all inclusive in April and wish I'd stayed at Kaiser. Kaiser defo value for money.I WILL RETURN WITHOUT A DOUBT

We have just returned from a holiday in Tunisia.
We booked the trip through Detur with unspecified hotel, and were allocated at the Kaiser Hotel in Sousse. It is a simple but ok hotel.
We had no meals at the hotel so I can not comment about this.
The size of the rooms and furnishings in the rooms are ok.
But it was not clean, the air conditioning did not work and the beds were extremely hard.
Hotel staff was friendly.
The hotel is well located with easy access to the beach and downtown.
We spent only a few nights in the hotel, the remaining time we spent with my husband's family. The hotel worked fine for this. But personally I would not have spent all my vacation at this hotel. There are much better hotels in Tunisia which is also at a reasonable price.
