I was in Sousse for quite a while and visited a number of cafes in the Medina. Cafe Seles is definitely the best of them! The food is excellent and whether you need a cool fresh fruit juice or a coffee pick-me-up after touring the Medina, Cafe Seles is the place to find it! You will not find better, friendlier service, either. If you're in Sousse, you have to go to Cafe Seles! You won't regret it.

We had read the reviews and wanted to seek this restaurant out, we had a bit of trouble finding it the first time we went however if you use the Bab el Gharbi entrance as a previous reviewer noted its just inside the walls on the left.
The food was delicious I had the chicken kebab and my boyfriend the Cous Cous Royale, freshly made and tasted delicious. We also tried the fruit smoothies, very refreshing when you have just come in from the sun!
Excellent service and welcome, definitely one to try if you are in Sousse!
Note it was closed on Friday evening when we tried to return.

Cafe Seles, located near the West Gate (bab el Gharbi) of the Sousse Medina should be on the top of the list of any culinary experience during your stay in the city. The food, from the traditional Tunisian "brik" to the "couscous meshoui" and the refreshing taste of his fresh fruit juices will tantalize your taste buds with spices and exotic flavors and textures. It is an experience not to be missed.
The hospitality of Sami and his wife is also a welcome treat, especially if you’ve just come from shopping in the Medina. It is a place to relax, enjoy the view of the Medina, and feel the coolness of the sea breezes.
I encourage you, if you only stop in one place during your visit to Sousse, make it Café Seles. It offers the best that Tunisian cuisine has to offer and is an experience you will remember for a lifetime.

I enjoyed eating here several times during my stay in Tunisia. It was a great experience for me and the food was amazing! The menu has great variety of options including Tunisian salad, fish, kebobs, shawarma, and fruit smoothies. The location is also nice being right inside the medina wall. Definitely a great place to get some great food!

Cafe Seles is tucked away at the edge of the Medina, but is well worth looking for! It features a lovely rooftop terrace overlooking the city, or you can eat at a level down on a covered terrace, or you can move down a little further and eat inside. Couscous is the national dish of Tunisia (along with the ubiquitous Tuna) but it is not easy to find good couscous at tourist restaurants. Cafe Seles couscous was awesome, even impressing my son who doesn't like couscous! It is served with meat and vegetables, and is moist and flavorful. I would also recommend the fruit drinks.
