There are 3 hotels in this complex. Marhaba Beach, Marhaba Club, and the Marhaba - We stayed in the Marhaba. The Marharba Beach and Club are both really nice hotels, with good facilities, good entertainment and a good selection of drinks at the bar. The MARHABA however, was not. The only drinks available were vodka, martini and gin and the vodka was definitely watered down. The cocktails were like drinking pop, and coffee was only available at one bar, when the machine actually worked. The rooms were of very basic quality, and the maids came into your room 3 times a day (once to take the towels, once to clean the room, and once to replace towels). The hotel does not cater for English and the guests were mainly German and Russian. We had to pay for a decent alcoholic drink, until we realised on day 4, that the best alcohol 'Boukha' was hidden and only available on request - Yes we made the most of it from then onwards and did share this with other guests in the hotel. The entertainment was the same every single day, although the animations team did work very hard. The food was of poor quality, and was mainly Tunisian, Russian and German dishes. They did have an English night but the food was very bland, and was more Asian (with no taste at all) than English. Pizza and chips were served every day and fresh fish was on the menu each day too. The only meats served were turkey and liver, and were just cooked a different way each time. Some of the staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you, whereas the other staff members made you feel like you were inconveniencing them by even asking for a drink! Also as Ramadam started on our last day - The bars and everything shut down for about half hour as soon as the sun went down, so you couldn't even get a drink or any service.
The locals are hard work, and are very pushy and aggressive and very leary, especially outside of the complex - Definitely not a place for single women to go as you do not feel safe out of the complex.
We would not go back to this Hotel, and would recommend to anyone looking at this hotel, to book into the Marhaba Beach or Club for an all round better experience - But do check your booking information, as we actually booked the Marhaba Club through onthebeach.com but were put up in the Marhaba, hence our disappointment.
