“Go there if you have nothing to do”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

Its a huge garden. It has 2 palaces inside. Both belong to the King of Egypt who ruled centuries back. The palace on the beach is the summer palace and the one inside is the winter palace. (imagine how rich he was)
There is an excellent beach inside. The view of the sunset is awesome.

“Beautiful Garden and Palace”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

Beautiful Garden with wonderful palm trees oasis and the palace is nice from the outside but it is closed for visitors - this is located on one end of the corniche. You can get some great pictures of this place and the Med Sea is right there as well. Worth a visit.

“A wide variety of destinations in this solitudinal oasis”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Montaza is a wlled refuge from the rest of Alexandria that used to be the King's private retreat. The gardens and grounds are extensive, but in addition to this there are restaurants, hotels, reception halls and even a section that is private and has bungalows surrounding a private beach.
Day or night, this is a great place to visit. However, you should arrange for a cab or other vehicle transportation, as this is a big place and not suited for a simple stroll without transportation arrangements.
My last visit was a few days ago, but I've been here innumerable times for wedding receptions, parties or just to hang out. When visiting here, you can easily forget the bustle of Alexandria is just on the other side of the walls, and I definitely recommend checking it out.

And yes, there is a fee for entry unless you're coming for a scheduled event or as a guest to one of the facilities or guest's bungalows.
