This place is kind of like a museum-library combo. It’s a pretty building. Takes a couple of hours to wander through it all.
The ancient library is long gone, but the modern library in Alexandria is well worth a visit. The architecture is quite unique and the library has a mix of traditional books, digital content and interesting art exhibits. The ground floor has a small but very well done museum for the famed president Anwar Sadat. If you're visiting Alexandria, it's well worth a visit.
This library was always on my personal bucket list to see since following the ancient scholars. The modern architecture of this new building suits the close proximity to the sea with its clever roof line and lighting. Fabulous place to wander and take it all in.
While it was interesting to visit, it's a modern library like many around the world. I don't understand why it is included as a tour group destination, there are much more interesting places to visit in Alexandria.
Interesting architecture and exhibition if within walking distance. I would not travel across town to visit.
