I spend in Alexandria 3 full days and nights. Regardless the aim of the visit it was terrific. I enjoyed the culture, the people, the food, the sightseeings, the weather and to some what extent the conference I attended. it was from 2nd-4th of October.

    But first things first:
Sheraton Montazah Hotel is situated in a nice area called Al-mandarh just close to a very great attraction site called Al-Montazah ( the castel and gardens of the last king of Egypt King Farooq).
Sheraton Montazah Hotel is an nice hotel they claim 5 stars but they deserve 4, they've got a small thing of every thing ,but nice. I mean small water pool, small lobby, small rooms, one or two restaurants, bar, cafe shop, Disco, business floor, health club,..., You name it: it is there!, but in crowded fashion although acceptable arrangements.
There is a big chance of crowded times that the shoulder hits the shoulder due to small spaces.
one of the big red flags is the wifi internet is not free unless you are a resident in the business floor.
The room service is super all together with the other services provided by the hotel I can say they are experienced professional polite hotel workers except the receptionists they are always in hurry and they give you this smile of aggressive: "what do you want?', not the welcoming:" what do you need?".
The terrace is also small on the ride in to the hotel but reveal a very magnificent view of the Mediterranean sea next to Al Montazah castel.
Now if you are lucky, I weren't, you will get a sea view room and that will make you forgive the hotel on any mistake they would do.
To be HONEST once you are in Alexandria you will forget about the hotel unless it is exceptionally unforgettable. wake up early enjoy the early morning walk on the beach. Spend an hour or two just looking at the beautiful sea waves go back to your hotel enjoy the breakfast buffet which is remarkably luxurious in Sheraton Montazah Hotel. finish your day activity come back to the hotel plan for a nice evening activity solo or with friends( which I highly recommend) :
    - a walk at Al Montazah.( King Farooq's Gardens )
    - Visit the library of Alexandria.
    - a nice late Lunch restaurant with a view on the sea
    - Alramil Station cafe.
    - San Stifano and the fore-season hotel .
    - San Jiovani area.
    - Qaitbai's castel.
    - Traditional restaurant like Balba' restaurant.

At the end a question will rise:
Would you recommend this hotel for a friend?
A: Yes, for Sure. especially if you are in business or educational trip and you don't want to concentrate much on the hotel building but on the surroundings and the provided services

Room Tip: Book your vacation in October till december beautiful weather.

My Husband and i spent 2 nights at the Sheraton and could not wait to leave! The room was tiny and the bathroom unclean, marks all over the walls and the curtains stained. The view was great but was too scared to walk out on the balcony of fear it would collapse.

Right next to Montazah, the location is quite nice, overlooking the beach. The hotel is aging and definitely needs some upgrades. The rooms are quite tiny, but had a nice balcony facing the water.

    Restaurant was average

I have spent a week with my family there; It is a great hotel, with an excellent location but their club lounge is not fit to such class.
The lounge was small, badly decorated and for some reason they allow for smoking inside without respect to other nonsomk and children inside it.

Stayed here on a business trip for 1 night. Hotel rooms were quite comfortable but found bedding a little uncomfortable. I had a twin room. Good range of toiletries in the bathroom. Shower was fine. Location was good. Food in the bar was very nice and arrived quickly as we were in a hurry. Staff in the bar were friendly. Outside bar was also fine and nice to sit in. Hotel is a little dated.
