The hotel itself is rather modern but the service and the maintenance are still in the communist time.
The location is quite good but the terrible smell from sewage treatment factory located opposite the hotel was prevailing. During my stay just a few rooms were occupied but on the booking.com it was said that all rooms are occupied. In addition, you can get mosquitos in the room. No buffet breakfast, very poor selection from the menu.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms from the street side.

I have stayed in this hotel for one night on a business trip and luckily I got there very late and haven't got much time to get depressed. The rooms had a very sad look, the furniture was outdated and poor. I was supposed to have a single room. Instead I had a twin and the beds were incredibly small and uncomfortable. Every time I was turning from one side to the other I was afraid of falling from the bed.
The shower was incredibly small and the doors couldn't be closed. The towells smelled good but had a dubious grey color.
The breakfast was far from offering many choices. The omelet was decent and I ordered separately an espresso from the bar (at least that one was ok).

Traditional style hotel not too far from the beach on the main road. Classic and old fashioned rooms of good size but unatractive decor, with small shower-only bathroom, no amenities, tired pillows. Very dark corridors to access rooms. Nice dining room with correct breakfast, nothing special but acceptable. Free wifi but with bad connection in rooms. Excellent size pool and pleasant pool area, with plenty of seating and large unbrellas. The food in restaurant quite good, excellent icecream, attentive service. Kind reception personel.

This hotel is not a 4 star hotel, the rooms are poor, dusty, no slippers. They did not take the trash from the bathroom after the first night. The breakfast was also very poor, some chease, salami, sausages and only scambled eggs. fruits: only apples. For coffea, tea and even for a glass of water you could not serve yourself, have to ask for them.

The first time I went to Romania was in the early seventies and in this hotel nothing has changed. Romania must absolutely work on its hotel classification. The stars given (by whom) have totally no meanings whatsoever. This one said 4 stars, barely one in my opinion. Trusting the website, I booked it for two nights wanting to check it out first. We run away after the first night. I really don’t know where to begin, everything went wrong. Arriving by car we called them and ask for directions, first in English to no avail then in Romanian but the lady could not explain us how to get there. The GPS showed the wrong location! Finally we stopped and paid a taxi to take us there. The reception hall is dark day or night. The corridors are dark, while walking to our rooms I really thought a policeman from the old “Securitate” would jump out of nowhere and ask for my papers. The rooms are extremely old. The smell is horrible. They basically don’t put air con when the rooms are unoccupied so you are stepping into an oven that has not been aerated for a couple of days. The carpets are from the Ceausescu era. The beds are hard as rocks, good for your back they say! If you flush the toilet at night you'll wake up the neighbors, wash your hands and the faucet will make the same noise as an elephant trumpet. To save electricity they use sensors for the lights in the corridors however they are broken so if you don’t find the switch you are in the dark. No shower curtains etc., on the positive side, yes the bathroom has a bar of soap and yes there was toilet paper. Obviously, never again.

The hotel is a mix of a 2 and 3 stars Hotel and a restaurant and lobby of a luxury mansion. In fact there are rooms in the luxury wing ( according to the reception with 4* ) that are quite good. I have stayed in the right wing where the rooms are quite poor.
The restaurant is ok, with friendy atmosphere and personel. The pool is fantastic...if you have water in it !
