“Elegant and Comfortable”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

I stayed at Casa Wagner in Brasov recently and was pleasantly surprised of the personal attention and charming / comfortable room they offer. Very central, not to big and very pleasant. Especially I loved the HOME MADE breakfast and good service. I recommend it.

Room Tip: All rooms are different: Modern or Classic.

Our spacious room had a view of the main square and a comfortable king size bed. We were allowed to drop off and pick up our luggage in front of the hotel by asking the staff to advise the local security guard. Their breakfast was excellent and included eggs, pancakes, cheese etc and good coffee. We visited most of the old town on foot since the hotel is centrally located and closed to most attractions. The visit of the Black Church was quite disappointing as the place was very cold and not well set up for tourists. We used the rented car to visit Bran castle, Rasnov fortress and the local area. We parked the car for free every night about .5 km from the hotel at a local park. There are many good restaurants within walking distance from Casa Wagner and the shopping street is right around the corner.

Room Tip: Room # 3 above the main entrance is a nice suite with a great view, large bath tub, desk, armoire, a...

I really enjoyed my stay at Casa Wagner in Brasov, some 150 KM north of Bucharest. It's a relatively small medieval inn smack dab in the middle of picturesque square of Brasov, which is a city you mustn't miss if you visit Romania. Location is PERFECT. I believe it has 22 rooms. I had the largest room overlooking Brasov square made of solid wood floors probably from centuries ago, a fantastic view of the square where one can see many colourful medieval buildings and the city hall, cafes, cobble stone streets and doves. I have never seen a room so large...it was like 3 masterbedrooms put together! It had a decent king sized bed which could have been softer, but was clean, great bathroom (which to me tell me everything about a hotel or inn), and not noisy at all, considering it's in front of a city square. This is not your usual "modern" hotel or inn. It has a strong medieval character. Breakfast is free and hotel staff are very helpful. One problem: If you have a car, there are only a couple of streets where you can park for free for as long as you want and may have to queu up. ask the hotel staff where to park. Brasov is a great centre point to go to Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle), Rasnov fortress city, Sinaia with the beautiful Peles castle, the most beautiful in europe I have seen so far.

Room Tip: Ask for the largest room overlooking the square. try to book a couple of months or more in advance.

Spent an evening in Brasov, arriving around 6pm we were dropped off at our hotel.

The hotel is in the central part of Brasov on the square. Lots of pubs and restaurants nearby.

Our room was large, bed was comfortable (although could do with more than two pillows). Bathroom was spacious. All round the hotel was very comfortable.

Although, we found the room quite hot on arrival and even after turning off the heating in the room still found the room quite warm.

Breakfast was ok.

An adorable, quirky hotel with large, comfortable rooms. It is located directly on the main square so perfect for exploring and for all the shops and cafes. Our minibus was allowed to access the square so we were dropped off directly outside the front door. A security guard controls a barrier, I am unsure if taxis are granted the same privilege so something to consider with suitcases. From the road it is only a very short walk though. The positives of the location and hotel far outweigh this. However the downside of being so close to the square is that if you are light sleeper you can hear the clock chiming on the hour every hour. We had a room at the back so it was only very faint and did not cause us any disturbance, we had spoken to guests who stayed in the room at the front who could hear it a great deal louder so bare in mind when booking. Breakfast was a good, staff very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper opt for a room at the back so you are not disturbed by the clock in the t...

We spent 3 nights in Jan 2013 , the hotel was in the main square few steps from the pedestrian republic street and the black church . The rooms were spacious with an elegant old style atmosphere. The beds were comfortable. Very good breakfast buffet.
Cooperative staff, who helped us to arrange tours …near by there were many shops , restaurants , money exchange offices and super market …
The drawbacks are the lack of a bell boy to transfer luggage and absence of a safe box in the bedroom
