One of the favourite churches chosen by couples for weddings, but a bit small, though. Nearby is the tomb of Nicolae Titulescu - probably the greatest Romanian diplomat of all times.

Another nice church and a good example of its kind. My favorite aspects of the church are its striking spires and the faded, nearly gone frescos around the back of it. The light wasn't great when I was there, but I bet in the spring or summer it's very pretty.

Take a little walk around, it's pretty cool.

The Saint Nicolas of Schei Church is situated about 1 km far from the Council Square in Brasov (during the Medieval Times, the Schei Neighbourhood was outside the city walls). The architecture is very nice (the church looks more like a fairy-tale castle) and you should visit inside the yard the First Romanian School.

The church of Saint Nicholas is much smaller than the Black Church (see separate contribution). However, it is also woth a visit. Somewhat hidden in a cemetery next to it the church is located outside of downtown and an about five minutes walk from Ecaterina's Gate. The reason is that the Romanians formerly in the days of German domination were only living outside the city walls.

Went on a quiet Saturday morning and it turned out to be a highlight of the trip. There was a small prayer service going on with some local parishoners and the priest and cantor were singing the prayers. Two of the most beautiful voices I've heard in a church, with a call-and-response between the two. I sat in the back and listened for about 20 minutes and was very moved. The church is small, but beautiful. I'd also recommend taking a peek at the cemetary and the Romanian school museum nearby.
