“Never on Monday”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

The church is closed on Monday, so plan your visit to Brasov accordingly.
We enjoyed seeing this church from the outside.

If you look up on the roof there is a statue of a young boy. There are several legends explaining that the statue was built in memory of the boy that fell from the roof. We learned about these legends on the site and would have not noticed the boy had we not read about it:

the biggest catholic church i have ever seen. it seems a bit scary when you first go inside, but it is so interesting and full of emotion, or at least that is what i felt when i went inside. it has beautiful scupltures and an amazing history.

“Eventful history”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

A Lutheran church that got its name from being blackened in a disastrous fire centuries ago, it has a display of fine Turkish rugs and old pews. Do not miss the pillar with bullet marks from when Ceaucescu’s forces fired through the door into a crowd of revolutionaries who had taken refuge there in the 1989 upheaval.

“More than worth a quick stop”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

Very cool to look at it, with a nice history. Inside is beautiful but wish they allowed pictures. Also wish there was more of an organized tour or presentation at least, since all there really is to do is walk around for a few minutes and look and leave.
