“Not geared for American Standards”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

Upon checking into this hotel, the lobby looked okay. But once we took the elevator up to our floor, we felt as if we were in a Russian hotel from years past. As we walked down the hallway, lights flashed on so we could see where we were going. They clicked off just as fast as they went on. That should have been the first clue.

After opening the door to our junior suite, I knew we were in trouble. This tiny room had a small wall dividing a couch from a double bed. We tried to freshen up to find that there were just one set of towels.

After traveling an entire day and so worn out, I had to go back to reception to be sure that this was indeed a junior suite. They assured me that it was and sent up another set of towels.

Even the bathroom situation was strange. A contemporary glass wash basin sat in the bedroom. The toilet was off of the sitting area. The shower was adequate, but it was a good thing that I didn't have to wash my hair.

I didn't want to make a big deal out of this room, but it was depressing. We went out for dinner to return hoping we could fit in a double bed. It had been years since sleeping in a bed of that size. As we got into bed we discovered that the bed was made up with a twin duvet.

This was a night of horrors. I didn't have the energy to get dressed to go down again. We had to have the air conditioning on because of the summer heat, and it became cold in the room some hours later. All night long we were pulling on the undersized bedcovering to keep warm waking each other up. We got little sleep.

The next morning I went back down to reception to complain, and this time they sent up another twin duvet. It was weird sleeping in that bed the next night with two covers, but it worked.

The breakfast was below average. They did have a good coffee machine in the dining room, however, and I was able to have a decent cup of coffee.

The only redeeming factor is that this hotel was in an excellent location. I believe there was a Ramada across the street. You might have better luck there.

Sincerely, the room was clean, but the receptionist was rude and when we had to pay the bill for the parking space she didn't intend to give us our change until we told her. Anothee thing, when we went to eat breakfast the staff didn't even have the decency to say '' Good Morning '', the only thing the cared about was the room you were staying in and after that they didn't give a damn about what was happening in the restaurant. For a 4* hotel they should a little bit more organised. So I don't recoomend it for anyone. Pay an extra 50 lei and stay at Hilton Hotel, I know I'll be doing that the next time I come to Sibiu.

Very nice hotel. Clean, high quality, great location, just at the beginning of the old city where all the pubs and restaurants are.
The bed was old and cranky. The bathroom had glass walls so it's transparent...
The staff are very nice and know English. They have a spa in the hotel. I had a massage by the great Iulia (Yulia). She is very nice and know her work. My back feels great now.
Is ever again in Sibiu, will go there again.

We stayed in this hotel for one night during our business-journey and it was quite disappointment. The rooms are small and weird, the bathroom is terrible. Service and breakfast was ok. I am common on much better level by four stars hotel.

First impression is blue. Somebody decided to put the interior in dark blue and if you enter the reception area the colour overwhelmes you.

The rooms are nothing special and need as the whole hotel a makeup quite soon. The weirdest thing is the washstand in the bathroom as it is mobile and looks like a kind of temporary solution. I would also prefer if they could do from time to time a basic cleaning in the bathroom. The shower ground was already so brown in the corner that it was disgusting.

The breakfast is mediocre and the waiter stress you totally as they run competitions to clean your table doesn`t matter if you still eat or drink your coffee.

Overall the place is too expensive and no worth the money.

We had 2 nights here in a junior suite, which was very odd.It appeared to be more a room intended for a single business traveller. The bed was small and had only a single duvet, and there was only one set of towels. We asked for more towels and pillows ,they were never forthcoming, but another duvet was delivered fortunately or sleep would have been impossible. There is a separate toilet, a basin in the bedroom area, and a very tiny bath and shower enclosure, very claustrophobic. Not a room to spend time in, very oddly designed.
Breakfast was as one would expect, given that the hotel takes a lot of large groups, the food quality was average, and the waiters only just coping. We did not eat dinner here.
This was the least good of the five hotels we stayed in during our trip to Romania, and the most disappointing. The others far exceeded our expectations, hopefully Sibiu will get the sort of nice hotel it deserves soon.Meanwhile this is probably the best option, the situation is certainly very good.

We stayed in Continental Forum hotel for one night during a quick stop in Sibiu. We arrived in the hotel around 22:00 and when we entered in the room we felt that the room was cleaned very fast. Not because it was dirty. No, the room was quite clean but not tidy, with things and amenities missing from it as if someone was in a rush to finish up the cleaning and forgot even to put some towels in it. However, when I called the reception to ask for towels and some soap and shampoo, the reply was that quite disappointing: the girl at the reception told me that she will sent it with my husband when he will return back to the room!! (My husband went out to buy some painkillers from the pharmacy). Is this what you call a good hotel service?!

Besides that, the room was ok. Quiet, spacious and clean, with a small mini-bar and a safe, without however a properly large bed (for two persons the bed was ridiculously small and so was the duvet cover!). The closet was too small as well. The bathroom was lacking in privacy since toilet is separated from the bathtub and the sink is located in the middle of the room!

On the other hand, one great advantage of this hotel is its location. Very close to the city center and the places to visit and see, and with a private parking.

Breakfast is decent and with enough choices. However the big disappointment was the coffee!!! This was a black kind of liquid that only resembled coffee by its colour. Pity. And when we asked for another type (cappuccino / espresso) they told us that they can serve it but with an extra charge!! This is something very strange since good coffee is always part of a decent breakfast!

At the end of the day, this is a decent place to stay in the lovely city of Sibiu, but -this being such a centrally located hotel- it ought to be a lot much nicer.
