The hotel is amazing. It's the second time I stay at this hotel and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. All the members of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very stylish. When it comes to cleanliness, the hotel is spotless. Breakfast is amazing, and it's a pleasure to eat in the hotel's restaurant. If I could describe the hotel in one word, it would be "PERFECT". You must stay at Modus!

Living in Asia and the Middle East you get used to high standards, and sometimes visits to Bulgaria can leave you slightly drained. MOdus Hotel in Varna gives you a clean escape from some of the less pleasant sides of Bulgaria, with pleasant staff, very comfortable rooms, and a nice restaurant. Would hold its own against any 5 star in Asia or Middle East.

I do not normally write reviews especially positive ones that often. However, i had spare the time to write couple of sentences on this hotel.

I have stayed in many hotels in Bulgaria on business trips. I can comfortably say that by far this hotel offers the best service in Bulgaria. It is a small hotel and perfect for couple of nights stay in Varna.

Couple of pointers: Avoid first floor as the hotel is next to a big street. It is noisy at times. Avoid 5th floor back rooms. There are birds on the room sometimes making noise....

We had a medium sized suite with a large balcony, and the decor was superbe.
Half board at the hotel was also very good. Recommended!

If ever we are fortunate enough to get back to Varna, we will be staying at mOdus Hotel again. The staff could not have been more courteous, professional, patient, and helpful. They did a remarkable job of anticipating our information needs and volunteering the info before we could even come up with the questions. When my mother-in-law's pocketbook was stolen at one of the plaza cafes, one of the desk staff went with us to make the report at the police station because the staff knew that translation would be an issue for our non-Bulgarian-speaking group.
The location is excellent, immediately across the street from the Sea Garden park, which provides access to the beach, the summer theatre, the aquarium, the delfinarium, and a host of other attractions. The archaeological museum and Roman bath ruins are within easy walking distance. There are dozens of restaurants within walking distance, too, should you decide to dine outside the hotel bistro.
The rooms are quiet, comfortable, well-appointed, and very stylish. The beds are firm, but very comfy; if you find the pillow to be too hard/soft/thin/thick/please-may-I-have-a-fresh-pea-to-put-under-my-23-mattresses imperfect, they will happily provide one you like better. Spacious closet, luggage rack, and a dressing table/desk with a small fridge. They offer laundry and dry cleaning service, too.
There is also a conference room and a fitness center and a sauna, none of which we used during our stay.
The hotel breakfast is truly worth staggering out of bed for, even if you are severely jet-lagged: assorted teas, coffee any way you like it, fresh fruit juice, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, assorted breads and french-style pain-aux-raisins and croissants, eggs prepared any way you like, fresh veggies and assorted cheeses and cold meats, cooked sausages, and some other wonderful stuff we didn't try and can't remember. The waitstaff is efficient at clearing away the empties and offering refills without being intrusive. There's is lovely covered patio dining area or you can sit in the chic dining room and gaze out the huge windows to watch the passersby on the sidewalk. We did not have dinner in the hotel, but some acquaintances did, and they raved about the elegant and delicious fish selections offered.
