The Stadium is one attractions that make Plovdiv special. Although it is not monumental in a conventional sense, it carries some special feel. IMHO, looks more attractive at night. The Stadium location offers an opportunity to see it multiple times (e.g., at night and daylight).

How the Romans ruins always capture my attention, by building a concert like oval, that’s one for me is iconic and really tells a story of living a life to the fullest by designing things that even today we really enjoyed, highly recommended.

This Roman stadium is right in the centre of the shopping area. It's amazing to see how the modern city is laid out on the Roman footprint. While the full stadium is no longer extant, the restoration of this part is very well done and you can still get a clear idea of what the stadium was like in Roman times. Great place to visit.

The ancient stadium is an example of the city's historic meaning. Unfortunately only some parts of it are visible to visitors but nontheless it's really preserved. It's very centrally located so you will bump into it for sure.

The stadium is below ground and you can see the seating area without even going in. It's not as large as other stadia I have visited in France, Italy and Croatia which is surprising considering the supposed importance of Philippopolis. It has been well reconstructed.
