I've been to Dali 3 times. Once with client, once only with my husband and once with my brother and my husband. The 3rd time was the biggest disaster! First of all in Bulgaria is wide discrimination about the prices for foreigners! Yes, if you're foreigner you PAY MORE! Believe me, is not easy to be married with foreigner and bring him to Bulgarian hotels. This one was very "special" in any way you can imagine. All the "fashion" decoration in our room was made of plastic and haven't been cleaned for centuries!I decided to leave my towel for 5 min to dry up on one of the plastic decorations and I was amazed by the dirth I got on the towel. So far so good;) We wated 2h for new towels! On the morning we went to eat downstairs (the breakfast room is in a basement without any windows). Ok....we were waiting 10-15min...no any food appeared...I went to the reception to ask what's going on - I payed for me extra money for breakfast (being Bulgarian is also not good, I had to pay more money for breakfast when the breakfast of my husband was included in his part of the room bill - we had to separete the amount of money for the room (foreigner and Bulgarian=special amount of money). The owner=reception guy told me that we "weren't included in the list for breakfast" so, there is not breakfast for us!Amazing! We checked out and the owner didn't even try to give me back the money I payed for the breakfast! I'll never comeback there! All you foreigners coming to Bulgaria - WATCH OUT WITH THE NICE RECEPTION LADIES/GUYS - ALL OF THEM ARE TRYING TO OVERCHARGE YOU AND TRICK YOU! Always review couple of times the bill you get otherwise you can expect any surprises!

The decor definitely is "eccentric." Our room seemed more inspired by Las Vegas or Elvis Presley than by Salvador Dali, but that's not really a criticism. The room was large, comfortable, and had a lot of windows. It also had a small refrigerator. For Bulgaria, it was nice, if not great.
The location is close to old Plovdiv, which is convenient, and the oldest parts of Plovdiv are interesting to explore for a day. Unfortunately, the staff wasn't able to direct us to a site that we'd been unable to find by foot, the Roman amphitheatre. Perhaps it was the Bulgarian style of customer service, but we would have hoped for something more than "you just go that way," when we had already gone that way and not found it! Also, note that there is a fee for parking on the street.
Breakfast was passable. Toast, meat, cheese, boiled eggs. No milk for the mueslix, fruit, or juice. You have to ask for coffee at the bar/reception desk upstairs.

Today is my last night at this hotel so everything is fresh!
Excellent hotel for the money they ask for.
The staff is very polite friendly, and do speak a fair amount of english but not very professional.
The hotel offers satellite tv, phone fax service, hot spot and a small fridge (not a minibar).
The interior design is quite eccentric and appealing and relatively clean (except for the carpets especially in the hall which is beige in color and shows very dirty).
Some DIY is required here and there but nothing serious.
The breakfast is served in an equally interesting decorated basement. When I went down a full continental breakfast was waiting for me, so I guess I was kind of late, but all in all it was more than filling. However there were 2 fish tanks that were partially emptied and were meant for upkeep??! that comes back to my previous comment that some DIY is lacking.
It is in quiet enough street parallel to the main high street where stores, restaurants and bars are located smack in the center, So its location is excellent.
All in all I was pleased with this little hotel and most likely will be visiting it again.

We stayed at the Hotel Dali for 2 nights. (3 couples and a single) Agreed, it is a funky hotel in a great location, however we encountered a Major problem on our 2nd day- The hotel had double booked one of our rooms, so that we had to find another hotel the 2nd night. Their philosophy was "Tough Luck"! The receptionist stated that the other couple was coming all the way from Greece. (The next country over) Well, we had flown 3,000 miles ourselves and had been there a night before they told us we had to pack up and find another place. The lack of any customer service or caring about our situation left a bitter taste in our mouthes. They suggested another hotel for 2x the cost, and didn't offer us anything in return. If you make reservations, double, triple, check them once you arrive to make sure you actually have a place to stay-

I stayed here in April 2007. It is a small European hotel inspired by Salvador Dali. The staff are friendly and funny and make the best coffee that I had in Bulgaria. The rooms are clean and comfortable with cable T.V. The top room apartment is amazing with a large balcony with a view over the tops of the buildings towards the major shopping strip. The view is quiet beautiful. Behind the hotel is Old Plovdiv which makes it's location perfect. A couple of doors down the street is very good Bulgarian restaurant with an extensive wine list. It is easy to recognise, it looks really modern. I really enjoyed my stay here as my experience was more personal that you would get in larger hotels.
