Although we could only enjoy the theatre from outside/distance, it is very impressive. The Theatre is better preserved than many Roman theatres we have seen in many countries. It is an excellent example of through and complex archeological work and restoration. One of the special things is that the Theatre is still being used for its original purpose.

This is an amazing place. The restoration is very sympathetic and it is not difficult to imagine the place milling with thousands of Romans. Don't miss.

A remarkably well preserved -functioning- amphitheater, comparable only to Herod's in Athens. Set in the middle of the Old Town makes an excellent walk culminate in triumph.

This is one of the highlights of Plovdiv. Don't miss it! You don't need to pay the entrance fee. You can see everything from behind the gates and get good photos too.
