“STARI MOST IS A DEFINITE MUST!”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

On a day trip to southern B&H, we visited Mostar and its fabulous bridge. When parking the car it was hard not to notice genuine bullet holes in peoples houses, that seemed it was the norm.
We must admit though, without the bridge, Mostar is average at best. Splendid idea to re-build the bridge as tourism from all over the world come to view this. Worldwide fame can only increase due to the Balkans love of bridges.
Great to see the old town running across the bridge, but beware as the pretty cobbles are slippery enough to send you tumbling!
Once on top of the bridge, looking either way gives you great views of the Neretva river, and the river looking so electric blue just for you! Also if you work your way down the steps to be on the same level as the river, you'll find more great views looking up to the bridge and being surrounded by the river, rocks and romance.
But something that is most noticeable, is the vibe of the place. Its a happy place with happy people, which is so nice to see after its bad times.

“Disappointing restoration”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

An interesting location and juxtaposition of buildings but the way the bridge has been restored lacks authenticity. The finish on the bridge stonework is so different than the supporting stonework. It looks false. We visited the museum on the eastern side of the bridge and we found that interesting as you look directly down on the bridge and than go down into the bridge foundations. We also climbed up to the main road behind the museum to look at the deeply scarred shells of buildings still standing.

“a nice one time visit”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Worth going to see. Great history, nice touristy old town across bridge. Bridge itself is slick when dry, likely really slick when wet. Water color is great, and the river itself is very pretty. Not really worth a return trip, but a nice one time visit.

“Amazing Blue Water - Overrun By Tourists”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

The old bridge and amazing blue water below is a lovely sight. Old town is very small and streets are compact. The place is flooded with tourists however and this made it impossible to have a relaxing stroll around the old town. Many shops full of junk and cheap souvenirs. Takes a little away from the history and beauty of the bridge.

Worth visiting as a place to see however if visiting from further away, I.e. Dubrovnik, add in a visit to Kravice Falls and Pocitelj. We only spent an hour or so in Mostar old town as it was so busy.
