Owner description: "The death of Yugoslavia" organized by i-House Travel, is an unique excursion to discover, understand and consider the reasons of the last European war. We will visit together three amazing sites ending the tour with the Partisan cemetery. By many is described as the best excursion they have ever done.

I would recommend the I house death of Yugoslavia tour to anyone visiting Mostar. We grew up hearing news of atrocities in Bosnia on the tv but felt quite removed from it. This tour with Miran, a passionate and knowledgable young man, brought it home with incredible force. The cemetery, where he ended the tour, was one of the most shocking things I had seen - a place that represented different cultures fighting and dying together left to rack and ruin - thoroughly depressing but not to be ignored or forgotten. I won't spoil the tour by revealing the other two destinations but it was my highlight of Mostar and an experience I will never forget

We booked this tour on the basis of the reviews below and it did not disappoint.

Miran is a knowledgeable, passionate and interesting guide who lead us through the history of Yugoslavia. We visited three contrasting but equally relevant and thought-provoking sites during the tour. Would certainly recommend.

We highly recommend the iHouse ‘Death of Yugoslavia’ 2 hour tour which goes to this Partisan cemetery and two other sites – their office is on the main cobbled street from the bridge on east side of the river. We don’t normally go on tours and prefer to find our way ourselves, but these sties are difficult to find and impossible to get the context that our expert tour guide provided. This was one of the highlights of our two week holiday and the knowledge we gathered here put our surroundings in context as we continued to explore Bosnia and Croatia making the tour great value for money. Thank you!

A must if you visit Mostar. Go to ihouse (a few minutes from the old bridge) and ask for this tour. You will visit 3 places that no other tourist will go to (I'm keeping it a surprise!) and the story behind each is amazing. To hear first hand and to see the impact the war had is unforgettable.

Miran (our tour guide) was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the city, country and people that were involved, don't miss it!

Yes of course its hard to beat the Old Bridge as #1 thing to do in Mostar, but if you really want something different and not so "touristy" then definitely book the 'Death of Yugoslavia' tour with I-house. My wife and I just got back tonight and still can't stop talking about how good it was and discussing everything we learnt. Our guide took us through the full history of Yugoslavia, starting just after WWI all the way to its fall and even up to the problems BIH faces today. Being a history teacher he was extremely informative, passionate and very professional. He was more than happy to answer any question we could throw at him and not only answer them as truthfully as possible but you could really tell he was really neutral about the whole situation which gave us an excellent insight into what happened. The 3 sites you visited, are of course completely run down and in ruins but that only strengthens the tour as you can start to get an appreciation of what really happened during that terrible time. So if you really like history, prefer to get off the main tourist track or just have a spare 2 hours then seriously DO NOT MISS THIS TOUR!!!
