I was on one week vacation in Sevastopol back in 2013. I enjoyed the stay. I did not like the lighting in the room. There were this new economy light bulbs and I simply cannot get used to them. But I think for most people this is a minor flaw. After my complains they offered me to change the light bulbs. But I rejected this offer - I think this is very, very kind but not worth the trouble. The Breakfast was excellent, since I am a vegetarian I was pleased to get an individual breakfast.

One criteria for me for choosing this hotel because there was also a sauna, but I did not use it in the end because prices were too high for one person. I can understand this but nevertheless it was a bit of a disapointment for me there should be more information about the pricing of using the sauna

There was also a beautiful restaurant 5 minutes by walk nearby. Its name was Black Sea as far as I remember. The Hotel however was new and had beautiful pictures of the naval history of Sevastopol.
.
Maybe this is not the right place for writing this. However it came into my mind to review this particular Hotel because of the actual problems in Ukraine. I want to express my support for the Crimean people and the Christians living there. As a Greek I think I know what I am talking about when it comes to the EU. Thank you TripAdvisor for not deleting this paragraph.

Room Tip: If you are smoking choose a room with balcony.

Good location, close to the city centre although it is a bit tricky to find your way around first time. Staff was super friendly and very accommodating. Room was quite spacious and they also have a swimming pool (indoors but not heated) and sauna. There were two aspects I would change: - the bed (quite soft, although I reckon this is a preference in Ukraine as it has been the case for all the other hotels I have stayed there) and the breakfast where you could not exactly choose what to have. On the evening before they would tell you what they would prepare and you could either take it or ask for something else but after that was decided you could not wake up next day wanting something else.

Hotel a bit tricky to find especially if you are not fluent in Ukrainian signage. Once found though it is a bit of a hidden gem. The service was impeccable and always with a smile. Breakfast different over our two day stay. Excellent coffee and juice. Twin beds a bit narrow. Car parking within hotel compound so fully secure.

Stayed in a junior suite on the second floor for 2 nights. The room itself was large and bright, with plenty of wardrobe and surface space to spread out. Bathroom was well appointed. Everything spotless. The building has four levels and no lift, so be specific when choosing a room if you don't want to negotiate stairs. Breakfast was odd, to say the least. Only one dish cooked each morning - the 2 mornings we were there saw potato pancakes, and fried eggs and ham. Standard accompaniments each morning are yogurt and a packaged pastry. No choice of coffee or tea - it's black or green tea, and if you want coffee, you have to pay for it. Not happy about this. We also had to pay nearly $4 for a town map on arrival. Outrageous. Even though the hotel has a swimming pool, guests have to pay for the privilege of using it. Quite a good location - five to ten minutes walk (through the local market) down to the water. The staff were friendly and efficient enough, but at this price, I would expect more overall.

Room Tip: No lift, so choose a room close to the ground floor if you don't want to deal with stairs.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights in June as the result of a late night, last minute internet booking.

It was a little difficult to find (like most things in Sevastopol) even with GPS. The neighborhood, at least past midnight) didn't seem promising for a four star hotel. We made a u-turn and then immediately saw signs directing us up a narrow side street. Why we didn't see these when arriving from the obvious direction on the street, remains a mystery.

We stopped outside the imposing gates, unsure what to do next, when they were opened by the imposing security guard. Although our reservation had been botched by the major internet site, we were welcomed into the courtyard and our pleasant experience began.

The very professional and alert security guard was friendly and helpful making us feel both welcome and secure. The late-night receptionist was great. Despite our botched reservation, within 10 minutes we were ensconced in a large, comfortable room.

This attractive and comfortable hotel is enclosed in a high-walled courtyard with a beautiful rose garden that is obviously someone's happy obsession. It truly is a hidden and tranquil gem in unremarkable surroundings. Apparently this property was the home of an admiral and that theme is (tastefully) portrayed throughout the public areas of the hotel.

Somewhat surprisingly, the hotel includes a beautiful pool, sauna, and steam room facility. This (at least during our free time) is not shared with other guests but is reserved for your private use at no charge. It supposedly closes at 22:00 but we were welcomed to use it much later than that.

Our room was a mid-level, junior suite, and was very comfortable. The bathroom was large, clean, and well appointed with the only surprise being dispensers for soap and shower stuff (shampoo? bodywash? 2-in-1?) rather than the usual mini bathroom "condiments". The bed and bedding were top quality and there was a large flatscreen TV and (not quite working) refrigerator.

The included breakfast was nicely presented in the comfortable dining area but it was rather limited. Any changes from the set breakfast, for example juice or kasha, is charged individually.

This hotel was given the thumbs-up by a tough Ukrainian Hotel Review TV program (which is interesting to watch). All the staff (and on-site owners) were much more friendly and helpful than is my experience in other Ukrainian hotels. Everything combined to make this a welcome home base after a hard day and I was sorry to move on after our two-day stay.

Room Tip: Our room was on the second floor and had a reasonable view of a pretty courtyard. Higher rooms have...
