“Lovely small hotel in old town Kotor”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

The people who run this small hotel right in the center of the old town couldn't be nicer and more helpful. We had a charming room, comfortable bed with a table and chairs and cozy reading chair. Good breakfast included with a variety of foods and even an offer of eggs, more than your typical breakfast in the region. Loved staying in the old town of Kotor and while it can be noisy on a weekend with partying and music, the air con and ear plugs masked the revelries pretty well.

Stayed for 2 nights June 21st - 23rd. Great location. Beautiful inside with a lovely terrace where you can dine overlooking the square below as well as either eating inside the restaurant downstairs or outside. We don't usually eat where we stay at, if doing bed and breakfast. We did here and ate in both nights. Excellent food. We had room 7. It was enormous and beautifully decorated. The staff were first class. Really helpful, friendly and polite. The young lady on reception insisted on us being taken with our luggage back to the city entrance in the electric buggy rather than walk when leaving. What a great experience that was going through the narrow streets. A wonderful place and would liked to have stayed longer.

Room Tip: Choose room 7

We stayed here for 5 nights and were very impressed by both the position and quality of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast good.

Our only critisism was the noise level emanating from the bar in the main square which often went on well into the early hours of the morning. Had the noise been contained within the bar it wouldn't have been so bad, but with speakers blasting out into the square we found it difficult to get to sleep most nights!

We really enjoyed this hotel -- the room was large, brand new, and nicely decorated (though it was probably more to my mom's taste -- I'd describe it as "shabby chic" -- my bf still liked it). Like any hotel in the old town, you will have to walk a bit to the parking (free), but it was worth it. Definitely recommended!

Kotor itself was charming, though the entertainment here is of the standard "cute old town, shopping, and eating" variety. We definitely recommend the drive up the mountain toward Cetinje, gorgeous views!

This is a beautifully designed and furnished hotel with pleasant and welcoming staff. We were in room 2 which is very attractive but small. However there was a problem with the room (also the case with the other standard room), as it is situated under a terrace used as part of the restaurant. We were woken on two consecutive mornings by the noise of furniture being moved (presumably for cleaning) at about 6.30am - the second occasion was after making a complaint. The staff did sort this out eventually and our next two mornings were undisturbed. As a result of the noise and, particularly, the second occasion, we asked to leave earlier than our 6 pre-booked nights. The hotel willingly allowed us to do this without financial penalty. But they did not offer us a change of room (which would have been a higher category).
Another review refers to disco noise from outside bars, which is certainly true and seemed worst at the weekend. The shutters and windows did do a good job of keeping most of this out of the room, but it became a bit wearing as we did like to keep windows open until sleeping.
There was an odd incident at the excellent breakfast - we were asked to pay for a second cup of coffee. We refused to pay and the reception staff told us that hotel guests did not have to pay but that breakfast is also supplied for guests at some outside apartments who did have to pay. Very unusual!
Overall this is a nice hotel in an attractive location and we would recommend it but probably not the standard rooms (unless they really have solved the noise problem). It was fantastic value on a booking.com last minute flash deal (40 euro per night incl tax and breakfast).

(-) downstairs room may get noise from street but its natural when you stay in oldtown

We booked this hotel as a treat while staying in Cavtat Croatia and drove down to Kotor if you are going to do this make sure the hire car company allow it as all do not as it is in another country so you need a permit to cross .
It is well worth the effort and takes about 2 hrs if you take the ferry (4 euro) from Kamenari to Lepetane turn right off the ferry as the road to Kotor to the left is hard work and very narrow.
Kotor is an amazing place it is like no other place i have visited, little alley go here there and everywhere and this is why i have put a well hidden gem as the title as it can take some finding.
OK .The hotel is simply fantastic only 9 rooms but wow what rooms, decorated to a high standard and traditional The staff we met were of 5 star quality and make you feel so important without being over bearing. We stayed only one night but wish we had booked another as it is not enough to experience the delights of this hotel wonderful breakfast in a little court yard or you can use the upper terrace and look out over the square We met so many wonderful people in Kotor I have promised myself I will return Go just GO you won't regret it.

Room Tip: book early as they only have nine rooms and we were lucky to get one
