We were a group of 6 friends touring off of the Celebrity Equinox on its last trip before repositioning. We did not know what to expect from Kotor, but were pleasantly surprised. We entered early in the morning into what feels like a fjord to get to Kotor. The sky was clear and the moon was beautiful over the mountains. It was a tendered location, so we got off early and met our tour guide Sandra. She was a friendly, down-to-earth person, and we all bonded with her and got along right away. She drove us to Perast first, and got on a quick boat ride to Lady of the Rock, a church built on a man-made isle of rocks right in the middle of the bay. Quite amazing. Then it was a ride along the coastline to Budva - quite a different look from Kotor - new vs. old. We did a little walking around Budva, all the time Sandra talking about the history of the region, the wars past and not-so-past, and the future and growth of Montenegro. On the road back, Sandra took us up one side of the mountain for some photo ops. She's an excellent driver, but know the road is not for the faint of heart! Then it was back to Kotor to tour the old city on our own, see the shops and local crafts. All in all, we had a wonderful day in a country that we otherwise would not have visited, but were glad we had the opportunity. And I would strongly recommend using this tour company for your stay - professional, knowledgeable, and friendly.
