“Nice food with careless service”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

The restaurant has a great location with views to the mountains and the city wall. Stuffed pork steak and grilled squids were both tastefull dishes. The waiters were tired and uninteressered. Nice food with careless service.

“Fresh seafood well cooked, nice setting, great service”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

Probably the only nice place we found to eat in Kotor during a two-day stay. Stumbled across it on our first night. Setting is lovely - outdoor tables in a relatively quiet spot within the Old Town. We had a really nice, friendly waiter. I had the mixed seafood which was fantastic value for €15 with about 5 different types of seafood and my wife had the seabass. Both were delicious with some local wine. Highly recommended.

“Good fresh fish and friendly service”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

This place was recommended to us by a young guy at the hostel we were staying in who said it was where the locals go and was the most reasonably priced place to get seafood in Kotor. The location in nice, there is outdoor seating on a square and the service was fabulous. The waiter brought over all of the fish they had available that evening and we picked one that was big enough for us to share. He also made other recommendations including the mixed seafood salad which was tasty, and some veg. It wasn't the best meal we had in Montenegro, but it was in the top five and i would go again if i were in Kotor.

“A nice evening out”
Reviewed July 26, 2013 via mobile

We were slightly apprehensive about this restaurant given the mixed reviews. However, our boat guide during the day knew the chef and said it was one of the best in town. So we took a chance and are glad we did. We had a really nice bottle of Sauvignon and ordered a salad and the squid stuffed with cheese. The waiter then brought the squid on two separate plates because we had only ordered one main dish. We thought this was a nice touch. The service was polite and professional but there weren't a lot of smiles going. Some candles, music and something to stop the bugs from the lights above falling on the tables would also improve the atmosphere. However, the food was quite good and overall it was a nice place for a quiet dinner.

“Something fishy going on with the reviews here!”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

We travel for food, it is what we love as a couple and we keep a food journal of all the restaurants we eat in. Both of us have at times worked in the hospitality industry so we are also very fair and understanding about the things that can go wrong in a kitchen and how one plate of bad food does not make a restaurant terrible and that every waiter can have a bad day so one shouldn't always judge a restaurant on one impolite waiter. But something VERY fishy is going on with the reviews for this restaurant. Either the 46 people that have reviewed it have literally NO taste-buds or someone is writing 'fluff reviews' on behalf of the owners. From an entirely reasonable and objective perspective, the food here is simply bland, tasteless and entirely unmeritous of being 7th on a list of restaurants even if there are only 7 in Kotor (this is not a 'retaurant' in my opinion, it is like a canteen or worse). My girlfriend's mixed seafood pasta was based in a sauce that tasted VERY suspiciously like Heinz tomato soup and was absolutely definitely not made fresh on the premises (the food came out far too quickly for it to be fresh anyway). The pasta itself was overcooked so it all stuck together in a clump and as a whole the dish was bland and utterly tasteless. My plate of seafood, something I thought no one in Montenegro/Croatia could really fail with - there is, after all, an abundance of fresh seafood on the doorstep and cooking it must be something most Montenegrans learn from the family from childhood, was simply appalling. The shrimp were definitely not from local waters and likely started out frozen, much of the fish was gray in colour and tasteless suggesting either that it came from frozen originally (almost certainly) or was reheated/defrosted from a previous cooking - my whole plate was just utterly unappetising, unseasoned, and unimaginative, as well as being oily and luke warm in places. We had driven three hours to Kotor for the day and were very hungry indeed after skipping breakfast, we LOVE food and it should say it all that after a few mouthfuls for the first time in our lives we walked out and left our food (AFTER PAYING THE BILL). This restaurant is nothing short of dreadful and was a real wake-up call to us that Tripadvisor's awards of excellence really don't necessarily indicate very much. As I said, there really is something fishy going on with the reviews for this restaurant (also, why did the couple below who complained about the restaurant for their 'wedding dinner' - I feel SO sorry for them - give it four stars?!). The interior is musty and damp, has no atmosphere and feels like a work canteen. We personally found the service gruff but as I said people can have a bad day so I don't put too much on that.
