“Very pleasant stay”
Reviewed July 18, 2012 via mobile

Stayed during recent EXIT festival. Location is a short taxi journey from city centre. There is a nice park nearby. Double room was small but tastefully decorated and everything worked. Breakfast was above average. Wellness area was well equipped and also well maintained. Special mention must go to the staff who were very busy during the festival period but did everything they could do assist guests and always with a genuine smile on their faces. All spoke excellent English too. One young man even risked life and limb by dangling over the balcony to re-position the router so I could get wifi reception. Congratulations team!

Stayed at this hotel a week ago. Our room was a decent size with a small balcony. Aircon was very good. We were presently surprised that the hotel had an outdoor pool which was great as the weather was hot. The staff were most helpful and even had a continental adapter so I could charge my phone. The only downside is that it is a 20 min walk into town however the bus stop was close to the hotel and the cost was 45 dinar and the taxis are cheap.

I was here with two friend of mine and we want it to rent just normal rooms for crash over the night. But it wasnt any available rooms just president suit for 150 euro. I said, who cares we will split. But, surprise was wonderful. Large Jacuzzi in room, luxury furniture and separate entry on outdoor pool...you ave to try

Room Tip: take a president suit...

If the pool is not your thing....skip this hotel. I am a business traveller and stay at 20+ hotels a month. I would rate this in the bottom 5. Definitely won't stay here again. No wifi in room is one of the biggest problems...and being on an extremely noisy busy road is another. Add a fuzzy tuned TV with a bed resembling my gransma's old spring bed from the 40s...sheets are a step away from sand paper.....covered with maroon and gold satin duvet covers. It is clean....and staff was quite friendly...so I give them credit for that.

We have only stayed 2 nights; however, I will get straight to the point
1. The hotel is out the city centre so you need good walk to and from the hotel. However, the Taxis are about £2.00 to city centre so is not bad.
2. May be 5* hotel from outside but 3-3.5 from inside. The public areas are very small and out of date.
3. Rooms are good size but again very basic and nothing special.
4. Breakfast- very ordinary and nothing special. I give it a 6 out 10.
5. Staff- Very polite and helpful. Majority speak good English.
6. The manager upgraded us to a top notch room (their standard) after we have complained about the state of our room. We can’t complained
7. Overall, the hotel is from the 80’s era with a lot of patching up. It reminds of an ageing Hollywood actress with heavy make in order to look young.
8. Is it good value for money? I think so. It is down to how much you are paying for the room

Room Tip: Book in if you can't any other hotel

The hotel has a 5-star sign outside, but once you walk into the lobby, you know it's definitely not that category. The lobby is pretty small with a small reception desk & a small sitting area on the left, which is tightly packed with a few cheap-looking sofas/chairs. That's one issue of the hotel, the public areas are small.

The breakfast area is behind the lobby. The breakfast buffet was slightly sub-par. A lot of the baked goods were so-so while the eggs & sausages were pretty greasy. Otherwise, the food selection was OK, but nothing spectacular. The hotel doesn't serve dinner, but there's a restaurant on the next block, serving traditional Serbian fare - decent food.

The front desk people definitely are proud of their pool & spa in the lower floor. I didn't have time to check it out.

One cute thing is that the front-desk girls always stand-up at attention when a guest walks in. I wonder if that's an Eastern block custom. The front desk staff is very attentive.

The rooms themselves are actually pretty good sized. The bed was pretty comfortable. There's a small desk with clock radio & ethernet cable. No wifi in the room, only in the lobby.
By the door is the closet with a large safe. Next to the closet is a large area for your luggage. In this area is a full body-length mirror on the wall. In front the bed is a small flat panel TV & DVD player. There were plenty of English language channels.

The bathroom has pluses & minuses. The shower area is pretty big with full glass doors - yay! There's a built-in hair-dryer and towel warmer. The towels could be softer. The minus is the shocking black & red tiles on the wall.

That's the main issue with the hotel. The decor is a little tacky. The colors of the bathroom. In the hallway, some of the pictures are a little risque. The elevator is a tribute to 1980's glitz - all metal & glass. The decor of the lobby & furniture in general are not the best quality.

Another thing that I didn't like was that their house-keeping doesn't honor the "Do Not Disturb" sign. Even with that sign lit, they will come in later to clean your room.

There's a high-rise Hilton going up 1 block away. I think once that Hotel is open, this one will have problems. The neighborhood has a few stores 1 block away. But otherwise, its a busy road with not much appeal for pedestrians.

On the good side, this hotel only costs about $70/night. I want to give this hotel 3.5 stars. I rounded up for the low cost.

Only one night, but I can say that this is very nice city hotel. As a Best Western Diamond received nice room upgrade to junior suite with balcony.
+ clean, bathroom, balcony, price (didn't use spa), staff nice and helpful, cheap, room service very fast
- strange access to hotel (you have to drive over sidewalk), king bed not so big

Room Tip: ask for balcony
