I suppose it seems maudlin for a tourist to write a review of a funeral procession but as we approached Market Square today we ran towards music that we thought was a joyous parade.
It was a marching band followed by a casket and seemingly hundreds of people walking, many in tears holding flowers. I write this to honor the memory of a local young man Viktor Hurniak, a Reuters photo-journalist killed while fighting for his country in Luhnask.
Although this is a tragedy, the honoring of this young man by the town was so poignant that there were tears in the crowd as well as in the procession. Not just any event in the beautiful Market Square. Google his name and honor his memory.More
