You have to go Market Square. The place buzzes with vibrancy. It can be crowded and noisy (especially on Friday & Saturday nights), but that part of its attraction.. Lots of restaurants and sights in the area.

You must spend at least a full day or more at Ryvok square. There are more than enough museums and coffee places to keep you there, too. Beautiful architecture, mostly pedestrian-only (except for trams, buses and segways).

I have to admit I have family connections with Lviv but this was my first visit. The staff at the Chopin Hotel were very helpful but faced with an array of suggestions, I plumped for the Free walking tour and I'm glad I did. From this I was able to re-visit many of the delights of this wonderful old city, an array of churches of many denominations, museums, cemeteries etc. Very much a cafe culture; wonderful coffee and chocolate and tasty food. Eat your way round the stalls on a Thursday evening and watch the street theatre. Traffic chaotic, road signage arbitrary, buses, trams and trolley buses from the Soviet era add to the city's informality. Get here before everyone else does.

So pretty square you can't find in any other city of Ukraine! Terrific sightseings, lots of musicians on the streets nearby, restaurants and shops. Must see!
