A friend of mine had been planning to visit Lviv, therefore I was meant to look for a lovely accommodation in my city. The hotel is located closely to the old part of the city. There's university's park nearby thus you could enjoy a picturesque view on the high floor of the hotel. I would definitely recommend you to get a really cheap meal in a canteen which is called "Puzata Hata". It takes around five minutes for a walk through the park. Apparently, you may find it healthy for the digestion process before you fell asleep. Keep the right side of the university. It must be behind it. A single room cost us around 450UAH which included an air-condition and strong signal of an Internet connection. Doubtless it was the best place I could find for my foreigner friend who doesn't speak Russian. The receptionists were polite, helpful, cheerful and kind even though when they were in the end of a night shift. Actually, I was upset when I knew about a restaurant on the roof of the hotel. I incline to the view that it would be an unimpeachable romantic place for the people who want to have a dinner in the middle of sunset in open air. It would have a spectacular panoramic view over the old city.

Enjoyed my stay at the Dnister hotel. Lovely location (next to a quiet parc but still close enough to the city centre) and exceptional hospitality for Ukranian standards. Great service at the reception and in the restaurant. Rooms are definitly dated, but have a nice soviet authentic feel to them.

I believe this hotel used to be the only Intourist hotel in Lviv for foreigners during the Soviet era. It is a multi-story building which appears to have been built during the 1970s and has an exterior that still looks modern. The interior was built in the grand old European style with plenty of marble and a big circular staircase.

The main advantage of the hotel is that it is within walking distance of Lviv's city center and its medieval square. There is the beautiful Ivan Franko park with many trees next to the hotel which you walk through to get to the city center. The view from the hotel is also exceptional as you can see the whole city center and its historic skyline. There is an outside terrace where you can have breakfast which comes with your room.

The room itself was adequate and had a shower with sealed doors which is not always available in European hotels. The only problem we had is that the halls are especially gloomy and need a facelift. Since the hotel interior is done in a dull pinkish color reminiscent of Soviet times, I would suggest painting the walls a brighter pink and putting in a pink and magenta patterned carpet. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay if you want to spare some money and to be a walking distance to the city centre at the same time, just crossing the beautiful park in front of the hotel. We booked a standard room (the cheapest one) and we found it well equipped, cosy and comfortable. Receptionists can speak English very well (and for Ukraine it is extraordinary) and provided all information we needed. Definitively recommended!

A huge old Soviet style hotel in a pleasant location by the park. The room was good but was too hot. Bathroom was like a sauna, had mold, was outdated and had tile missing. Receptionist was pleasant and the breakfast was excellent. I didn't like having to wait whilst they checked the room before I could depart. They say it is to make sure you haven't left anything..more likely they want to make sure you haven't taken anything!!
