What a great way to see examples of traditional architecture and culture without having to rent a car and search out what is left! And how wonderful that the country is preserving them. We went on a Saturday In May and there were several wedding parties having photos taken in front of the beautiful wooded homes and churches. The frustrating part was that not all of the structures were open. I was eager to see inside.all the churches and most were locked, though one could peak and see that renovations had been done in most. There was something to see. Another problem was that trails were not well marked. We and a family of Ukrainians took a path that led us down a slippery hill and ended up getting muddy. This visit requires a lot of walking under the best of circumstances, so it is not for everyone, but it is well worth the effort. A trolly takes you from the town center to a stop near the entrance.
