I took a group here for a business dinner. The restaurant ambience is excellent, with great views of the city. It doesn't seem to be popular since it was empty except for us and another couple. The food was ok, not spectacular. They messed up my order but not a big deal. The problem came when we received the check. They refused to put the tip (10% on bill) on the credit card. I didn't have the 450 UAH cash ($65 USD) for the tip. They wanted to escort me outside the restaurant to an ATM to pay the tip!! Absolutely low class and embarrassing to your company. The thing with tips in Ukraine and much of Europe is they are appreciated but not expected, like in the US. That is, in Ukraine the waiters/waitresses salary does not depend on tips. But when they see Americans it seems they expect a tip.
