“Must trying in Lviv”
Reviewed April 10, 2014

First, this is an amazingly beautiful restaurant in the old Lviv. Second, the food is great. Third, no complaint about the service. Fourth, it is not expensive at all.

Remarkable is the Masonic background. Without studying the history of the building, one would guess this used to be a lodge during the Austro-Hungarian times. The restaurant - the walls, the windows, even the menu - is full with symbols of freemasonry, providing a very pleasant atmosphere. It is a must to try while visiting Lviv!

“Usual Fest! Group Kitsch and Fun + Fantastic Food”
Reviewed February 20, 2014

If you find this place, it's most likely because your guide book or a friend directed you here. It boasts no signage of any kind and is virtually hidden, which is part of its shtick, like neighboring Krijivka downstairs. Hopefully no one has let you in on the gag that awaits you upon entering, and I won't either, but it's the best one among the Fest! group of restaurants, and a great way to cause some anxiety to unassuming foreign guests (I am guilty of multiple counts of this).

The interior of the restaurant is spacious, charming, and quiet, much the opposite of its raucous, claustrophobic cousin downstairs. There's a small bar area and 4 other dining halls, 2 of which are set off from the main areas and are perfect for private engagements. The overall feel is private and intimate, which they were consciously aiming for with the freemason theme, which is rounded out by assorted kitsch and weirdness. It's a nice place for a low-key gathering or a date. If you're out on the latter the couple's window seats (or the small balcony if you can grab it) are a perfect perch with a view of the courthouse and main square below. Live piano at night completes the atmosphere.

Unlike other Fest restaurants which serve up standard-to-middling fare, the Most Expensive Restaurant in Galicia serves above-average food, especially the salads. And its the salads that keep bringing us back here (the salad with braised beef and figs is to die for). And despite the name, you'd have to have a truly mean-spirited waiter (or perhaps be an insulting guest) to leave paying the actual menu prices.

It's kitschy and fun, but also has a bit more class than the other Fest! places. And so fun to bring family from abroad to!

“Great experience, so-so food”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

Such a unique experience, never been to a restaurant quite like this. From start to finish, this was a bizarre restaurant. We were sat in a dark corner with only candle light.

Great service with a playful attitude. The food left a lot to be desired. They were out of a few items on the Saturday night we went.

I recommend it for the experience but don't go expecting anything gourmet.

The name of this restaurant can scare visitors and tourists who have limited budget, but no worries - the prices are quite safe)) The design of this restaurant can catch an eye of any
fastidious customer while the dishes will definitely raise your mood! Nice waiters, huge pictures and a throne-toilet - you should not miss them all!!

“Unusual and very memorable experience”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

This is such an unusual and mysterious place that you can't leave unimpressed! You enter through an old apartment with a man in a robe opening the door, leaving you confused and under the impression that you got the wrong door. He leads you to the restaurant itself, which has great food, beautiful interior design and excellent service. Not to missed when in Lviv!
