We were very comfortable in a clean and reasonably spacious room with a great view. Generally the service was friendly for a big hotel. One of the breakfast waiters must have gotten out of the wrong side of the bed and was mister Grumpy, but all other staff were courteous and helpful. The location is superb on edge of old town and close to buses and ferries. We had a great view from the hotel over the waterl Can highly recommend restaurant "More" just down the road near Jadrolinja booking office for great food.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a view over the water

Sibenik was a surprise for me, a hidden gem. It's an ancient, charming town with beautiful winding streets, a nice waterfront and good restaurants. Most importantly, Sibenik lacks the tourist mania of Zadar, Trogir and (oh god) Split. It's not a flashy town though. You have to explore around to dscover its charms.

Hotel Jadran is the only proper hotel in the centre of Sibenik. The location is perfect. It's right smack dab in the centre, on the waterfront, and only a 5-10 minute walk from the bus station. From here you have immediate access not just to the waterfront, but also to old Sibenik.

The booking went smoothly. The reception staff were friendly and efficient and spoke English. I got a low last-minute deal on booking.com, even though it was high season.

I treasure old hotels like this: perfectly located, oozing character, quite affordable if you get a deal. It's the kind of proper, older hotel you see all over Europe. I'd say the hotel is currently at about the two-star level. The reason the hotel can be so affordable is that it is an older building sorely in need of renovation. It's not run down or dirty. It's just older and in need of renovation. If I had to guess, I'd say it was last renovated in the 1970s.

My room was commensurate with the price: a small, basic, slightly institutional affair. It had a slight "old hotel" must. I'm pretty sure that the room has been smoked in, even though I asked for a non-smoking room. My room also had a number of design oddities that you don't see in a modern, well designed and well furnished room.

There is no wifi in the hotel, but you can get a fairly good connection from the municipal wifi just outside the hotel (including on the terrace).

The room had a small, older TV in the room, but with no English stations. The air conditioning in the room worked well. The shower is hot and high pressure, indeed too much so.

The hotel has a breakfast room. They have a fairly nice breakfast buffet, but it's not at the luxury level. Eggs scrambled or boiled, from what I could see. They also have a outdoor terrace immediately overlooking the waterfront. This terrace is largely unpatronized, even in high season. In a town where al fresco cafe culture is king, this lack of patronage is hard to understand. The location is so ideal. It wouldn't take much to turn this terrace into a waterfront showcase for all of Sibenik.

Sibenik is not going to remain a secret forever. Go now! I'm sure a major hotelier is eventually going to snap up this hotel property, renovate or rebuild it, and then you'll have to pay five times more to stay here.

I'm giving this hotel 2/5 because it is effectively a two-star property. However, this does not reflect my enormous satisfaction with the cost and location.

2 couples travelling, ended up at this hotel because our "reservation" at The Konoba b&b got lost! One night only . Location was excellent for us as we wanted to visit the old town and the market. Staff were actually very helpful.. even to advising that we could get the free city wifi hotspot on the terrace ( which we did with our morning coffee). Breakfast was fine with a good choice of hot food, eggs, meat, cheeses, fresh fruit and very good coffee. The rooms are another issue. They are tired to say the least..our rooms were on the water side but the windows are placed most awkwardly.. one being behind a post! The bathroom was clean and we had a tub which was a bonus as we mostly had showers in Croatia. Our tv stopped working ( tv's are small, old fashioned sets) and after a call to staff someone came instantly and changed it for a working one. All in all I'd say this hotel deserves 2 stars for the room layout, equipment etc but 4 stars for the staff service. They also had off street parking which was a bonus.

A large group of us stayed here to play water polo with the Sibenik club. Luckily we only stayed a couple of days. We were in Croatia almost 3 weeks and this hotel was the worst of any we stayed in. While it has the same name as the Jadran Club in Split, it is 3 grades below the club.
No AC, and no breeze through the rooms. Barely any water pressure in the showers. Terrible beds, hard mattress. Noisey outside from all the drunks in the alleyways at night.
Sibenik is a beautiful city well worth at least 2 full days visit, but if the only hotel you can book is this one, give it a pass.

I chose Sibenik for a one night-stay en route from Dubrovnik to the Plitvice Lakes National Park. It just happened to be a convenient stop-over. It also provided the chance to visit the Krka National Park. This, by the way, is nowhere near as beautiful as Plitvice; Plitvice is a "must see" - Krka is swarming with people, and when we were there in July it was a heaving mass of humanity, with hundreds swimming in the water at the base of the falls. At Plitvice, there are also many visitors, but the layout and organization means that you can find the places and moments of solitude. The Jadran was hot and noisy - probably the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in many! Even allowing for the fact that it lacks a/c, it needs updating. It is in a pleasant location on the waterfront, but the road in front of the hotel is used as a drag-racing strip by the local teenagers well into the "wee small hours." One night was more than enough. But do go to Plitvice and stay at the Jezero - a beautiful national park and a good hotel.
