Someone advised us that here in Croatia when the sun was shining it was no time to be inside, and they are right. Fortunately, the sun shines a lot here in Sibenik and finding an outdoor restaurant to enjoy the beautiful day is pretty easy. Finding food to eat however does take some exploration. Not all the restaurants / bars that sit on the water offer food. Most are only for coffee or drinks. We kept walking until we found Stari Grad. I tend to eat Vegan / Vegetarian and they had just two offerings that they mentioned; pizza and a vegetarian platter, so we decided to stop and eat.
I ordered the grilled vegetarian platter. The flavor from the vegetables was superb. There was grilled mushrooms, eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, onions and sticky rice. Served with warm and garlicky crusty bread - yum!
My husband had scampi - which were huge and he loved every bite.
Lunch for two, with only water to drink at the main meal, coffee and tea after came to $33. Might be a little pricey but the meal was worth it and the service was quite good. She was very attentive to us and kept refilling our water glasses and bringing us ice. The place was not overly crowded but it was a Wednesday and therefore not a lot of people are in town right now.
We will come again. Since it is right on the water there is access for handicapped. Parking would be across the street but down a little ways. This location is very near to the ferry stop. There are 4 tables outside and the rest are inside under cover.
I'll be trying the vegetarian pizza the next time.
