a wonderfull, huge church, which I always use as a focal point in Šibenik, as not to get lost...there is a parking close by and makes it easy to orientate yourself.

the church itself is wonderful and a great reneissance find for the lover of arts!

beautifully preserved ancient cathedral at the base of the old part of the town. Drive there on Sunday - parking is free.

The carved heads around the building and the rosettes carved in stone were fascinating. Be sure to take a guide to the historic part of the city for a full picture of this fantastic little city.

A unique cathedral. The sculpted faces surrounding the exterior suggest it is unique, and it is. The design is interesting, and there are many nice elements inside the church. The baptistery at the back right is very nice and set at a lower level - it appears to have much of the original intact. Most of this church was destroyed during the Serb-Croatian war - the roof was caved in, for example. Heartbreaking. It has been reconstructed, but look at the metal doors on the left outside of the cathedral to see bullet holes as evidence. We wandered around other parts of the walled city, but did not see anything else of great interest.
