“Awesome sanctuary ... even better tower!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Check out the main sanctuary, which faces away from the forum, with its remarkable rose window. The church also contains St Anastasia's sarcophagus, to the left of the main altar (there is a copyin the archeology museum across the forum. The tower is a real highlight, with a grand view of old town from its top ... along with an intimate look at the church's bells!

“Typical Mediterranean Church”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2012

The Cathedral of St. Anastasia reminded me of other beautiful churches in Dalmatia or Italy. It's built in typical Romanesque style with a very nice front side and a great accessible bell-tower.
It's clearly a must-see!

“tower”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2012

Amazing view on the whole Zadar. The entrance into the tower is charged - can´t remember the sum, but it´s worth it. Beware of the fact, that in order to get on the top you have to climb the stairs, which are up to 150:)

“Just another church”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2012

Nothing special, but nice to see. The best was to hear the organist practising.

“the church was closed, but the bell tower wasn't, and it's worth the climb”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2011

Toured Zadar on a Saturday, and a lot of the churches were closed, including this one. But the bell tower was open, 10 kuna per adult to climb - 180 steps. My 4 and 3 year old made it up with some handholding, so it's not that hard. The views at the top are absolutely worth it. It's the highest point in the old city and the picture opportunities from there are top notch.
