“***MUST VISIT*** best accidental find”
Reviewed July 3, 2014 via mobile

Walking down the alleys of Zadar and found this place. Super nice and interesting owners, very friendly. Had fish platter for two and a bottle of white wine - one of my best meals ever. Octopus / calamri home cooked was amazing, as was the grilled fish. Finished with digestive on the house (slivovice, plum based). Everything locally sourced and cooked authentically. Located on great little street where it is quiet, but still enough traffic to watch the word go by. Make sure to add this to your trip to Zadar.

“Bife More”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

Came across this nice and cosy restaurant in the old town of Zadar more or less by chance last year (2013) and went back again in 2014 with a group. The restaurant looks very small from the outside with just a handful of tables pinned up against the walls of the narrow street it is located in but there are three small rooms inside with tables to cater for about 40 people, at a guess. The decor inside is simple with old tools and miscellaneous objects hanging on walls and standing along the edges of the rooms. There is a good choice of traditional dishes on the menu and the service is very good. The staff are very friendly and professional and go out of the way to make the experience at the restaurant a positive one. Prices are very reasonable, too. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Zadar.

“The family museum restaurant”
Reviewed June 19, 2014

We happened to find an original Croatian restaurant in the old town, just by St Petra Church, and it was a wonder to see the family's three generations old restaurant. From the outside it looks like a local hangout, with four tables and granny babysitting her offspring riding bikes in the quiet street a block away from the tourist area. Step inside, past the bar, and you are in a museum over Croatian sailmanship. In the large dining room, cool and quiet, you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere. This restaurant serve original Croatian Food, and goes far beyond ham and cheese. They serve delicious seafood, dishes you find nowhere else, and the prices are low. We stayed there for three hours, tasting and chatting with the owner, who also served the food and tended the bar while sharing the family history with us. His great grandfather had built the house, and the family's three generations still live there and strive to keep going like most Croatians do these days.
If you are looking for real people and really good food, go there. You will never forget it. My best wishes for the Family. Eldbjørg from Norway

We walked around for a while looking for something filled with tourists and something that wasn't just pizza. We stumbled upon this hidden treasure!!! I had a white wine from the area and my husband got a Croatian beer that was amazing!!! The food was great and so were the prices!!! The service was great and at the end we got a free drink!!!
